American SCI was born in 1963, and its founder, E.Carfield, just wanted to provide people with a more novel and unique document retrieval tool. Subsequently, scientometrics, represented by D.J.Prece, used SCI to study the laws of scientific activities and gradually developed into an internationally authoritative scientific and technological evaluation tool. SCI, as an important means of paper and citation analysis, has also been paid attention to by scientific research management departments at all levels in China, and many units regard it as one of the main quantitative indicators of scientific research performance evaluation.
It is said that there are only two periodicals in one field of our major. If calculated by JCR, then 8 journals of our major will be searched by SCI, but JCR shows that there are more than 50 journals in our direction, so the top quarter of journals should have more than 10, which is puzzling.
JCR partition should be the four regions that JCR database naturally divides according to the influencing factors;
SCI partition should be made by Chinese Academy of Sciences, right?
