As the director of the center, Ruan has paid a lot for studying, being a good doctor and pursuing world-class medical skills. It is because of these efforts that she has achieved one enviable success after another. Ruan has been practicing medicine for nearly 20 years since he joined the work from 65438 to 0988, and has been studying constantly. From undergraduate to postdoctoral, she went through six universities. She laughed at herself, probably the university she attended the most.
Ruan said that although almost all the time is spent on work and study, it is a doctor's profession, which requires lifelong learning and must be rigorous from beginning to end, because doctors are faced with fresh life.
In 2002, Ruan began to take graduate students, and has taken 16 people so far. She admits that the process of teaching is also a self-learning process. Whether she is a teacher or a doctor, she is happy to accept these identities and enjoy them. From her, it is really not difficult to see her superb medical skills as a doctor and her patience and meticulousness as a teacher. She said, "I prefer being a doctor. Over the years, this has been my passion. Although it is very bitter and tired, I feel very fulfilled. "
Attention should be paid to endocrine diseases.
As the only gynecological endocrinology specialist diagnosis and treatment center in Beijing, it is the place where gynecological endocrinology research and clinical practice are most closely combined. But in the impression of most people, endocrinology has no independent impression. In fact, the definition of gynecological endocrinology is very profound. Broadly speaking, gynecological endocrine diseases cover most diseases. Women make up half of the total population in China. From the medical field, every woman will encounter endocrine-related problems in her life. With the progress of society, the improvement of people's living standards, the change of diet structure and lifestyle, and the acceleration of mental stress and life rhythm, there are more and more patients with gynecological endocrine disorders in China. Because of the diversity of endocrine diseases and the complexity of diagnosis and treatment, gynecologists are often confused.
In 2000, the Chinese Medical Association established the menopause society, which indicated that the medical community in China had a historic and important understanding of gynecological endocrinology, and it was necessary to set up a special committee to conduct research. Ruan was the youngest one at that time. Now this organization continues to grow and develop.
Ruan explained that with the improvement of people's living standards, the status of gynecological endocrinology will become more and more important, and people's concepts will gradually change. They don't just go to see a doctor when they are sick, even when they are seriously ill. More is the need to prevent diseases and improve the quality of life. In Ruan's experience, more and more women now pay attention to self-care, and many people consciously carry out preventive examinations, such as pre-pregnancy examinations.
According to the survey, the average menopausal age of women in Beijing is 48 years old, which is equivalent to the rest of their lives after menopause. The ensuing menopausal syndrome and related endocrine problems need to be solved urgently, which will seriously affect her physical and mental health. Actually, these problems can be prevented. Ruan called on the government to strengthen relevant popular science education. In recent years, Ruan often attends popular science lectures sponsored by China Reproductive Health Network and other media, communicates face to face with netizens, answers questions for them, and often holds popular science lectures all over the country.
Ruan is very willing to relieve the patient's pain. She also has an ideal, that is, with the change of ideas and the improvement of medical technology, the quality of life of women in China will be improved and they will walk proudly outside. "People of the same age, we look young and fit, others look old, which also reflects the elegance of our Chinese nation."
A good doctor should not only be able to "see a doctor"
The experience of studying in Columbia University in the United States made Ruan more aware that to be a good doctor, he should not only be able to see a doctor, but also have good scientific research quality and good moral character.
In foreign countries, Ruan saw that their technology and equipment are not all advanced and sophisticated than those in China, but some doctors can often publish articles in very important magazines after five or six patients, all because of their rigorous work, because every job, whether clinical or instrument examination, will eventually produce some very high-quality and valuable data, so as to accurately diagnose diseases and carry out good treatment. Knowing the latest medical technology is a necessary quality for a qualified doctor and also a scientific research quality for a good doctor. Especially in quality control, we must ensure the authenticity and reliability of data.
Gynecological endocrinology clinic has a characteristic. Patients who come often have emotional problems, even crying and nagging, and even are unstable because of irritability. At this time, as a doctor, Ruan showed full patience and tolerance when facing patients, and listened and understood carefully. Ruan believes that as an endocrinologist, he treats not only patients with physical diseases, but sometimes a doctor's words, smiles and actions have a great influence on patients. Because of this, she demands that she must keep a full and positive mental outlook every day.
The advanced doctors in the hospital told Ruan that they should not only learn from her medical technology, but also learn from her way of treating people and patience with patients. Ruan told them that it was very important for doctors. They should think what patients think and let them feel trust. She believes you, her illness may be half better, and with good medical technology, the cure rate can be improved.
When I left Columbia University, my tutor gave Ruan several bottles of the same specifications to prepare for future cooperation. The practice of returning to work also tells her that foreign countries are eager to exchange and cooperate with China, because China has its own excellent echelon and technology, which they don't have. She hopes that with more and more attention paid to endocrinology, our scientific research conditions will gradually improve, and we can carry out more scientific research exchanges and cooperation with foreign countries in the future. She also hopes that Gynecological Endocrinology will become a key discipline in Beijing and even the whole country in the future, and walk in the forefront of China and the world.
Work as a "scientist"
Working overtime every day often makes Ruan feel tired, but the thought of the patient's pain and expectation, sitting on the desk in the consulting room, makes her full of work motivation. For a doctor, an extra three to five minutes of work time can help him see one more patient. Ruan was sincerely happy to see the patient leave with satisfaction and to think that he could send happiness to the patient's family.
Ruan hopes that as a professional diagnosis and treatment center, the technology here should bring world-leading medical services not only to women in Beijing, but also to women in the whole country and even to women all over the world.
Becoming a scientist puts higher demands on Ruan. "Maybe I can't reach the level of a scientist at present, but I am working hard in this area." Ruan, who is young, eager to learn and loves the doctor profession, was selected as a rising star of science and technology in Beijing in 2002 with her husband Gu Junchao (postdoctoral fellow), which makes people have reason to believe that she will become a scientist one day.
A good doctor should also be a good scientist, because scientists should consider problems more comprehensively, not only to treat patients, but also to study and explore, to look to the future, to look to the world, and even to take this subject forward. Ruan has a wish in his heart: if this center is better, it will also make the country's medical level higher.
