Gong Li Temple (Jiuxiang Li Laoye Temple) was built during the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty to commemorate the famous local doctor Mr. Li Ehua. At that time, Mr. Li Ehua was still alive. Because the people felt their goodwill, they paid homage to him and built a shrine. It can be seen that Mr. Li Ehua had a high prestige at that time. Unfortunately, the temple was severely damaged during the Cultural Revolution, leaving only a memorial tablet of Mr. Li Ehua, which is now stored in front of the statue of Mr. Li. At present, the owner of Gong Li Temple was rebuilt on 1993 with the donation of Jiuxiang Village Committee and Sifang Township. Its main structure is all antique buildings, and the whole courtyard is simple and elegant, with criss-crossing corridors, scattered eaves and tiles, exotic flowers and grasses, and exotic trees and grasses, covering an area of more than 23,000 square meters, including the mountain gate, front hall, back hall, east and west wing rooms, cloisters, left and right tablet pavilions, medicine garden and Li cemetery. Its architectural style is spectacular and solemn, with carved beams and painted buildings. It is engraved with plaques, couplets and inscriptions written by more than a dozen famous calligraphers in China, such as Jiang, Li Jianguo and so on. The layout is four in one, the winding path is deep, the pine trees stand upright, and the flowers and plants are fragrant, which is quite garden-like. It is one of the tourist attractions with a long history in Shouguang. Many tourists and pilgrims followed.
There are four gates in Gong Li Temple, and the south gate is the main entrance. Usually only the south gate can enter. The rest of the doors are open during the temple fairs on March 28th and September 9th of the lunar calendar every year. There is a parking square in front of the south gate to provide parking spots for tourists from afar. There are two mighty stone lions guarding the gate, each weighing about tons. Red painted doors on both sides welcome guests. There is a stone drum on each side of the doorpost, and a lizard lies on each side of the stone drum. On the door were three magnificent characters inscribed by Professor Jiang of Shanda University at that time: "Gong Li Temple". Entering the main entrance is a screen with the word "De" written on it, which depicts the aristocratic life of the owner of Gong Li Temple. Then enter the front yard of Gong Li Temple, with a pavilion on both sides. Its pavilions are elegant and have a leisurely antique charm. It is mainly made of wood structure, with exquisite craftsmanship, vivid carvings and paintings, and meaningful scenery. In the East Pavilion, there is a pavilion monument erected in Lijiaguan Village, Chahe, Mr. Li's hometown. In Xiting, there is a monument standing in the pavilion of Shouguang Mars Village, where Mr. Li often goes to have a rash. You can see a magnificent ancient temple from the door screen, but this is not the main hall of Gong Li Temple, but the front hall of Gong Li Temple. There is a 2.5-meter-high monument to Mr. Li's merits in the middle, which is engraved with Mr. Li's life resume and the praise of future generations. Entering the north wall of the temple, there is a plaque that later generations praised Mr. Li's merits. On the main wall below, there is a prescription for Gong Li Temple to help the world, which is not a real prescription for physical diseases. But expressed the principle of being a man in humorous language. There is also a brief introduction to the activities of Gong Li Temple, which generally introduces all the activities of Gong Li Temple at ordinary times. There is a Guanyin statue on the west side, which is kind and comfortable. Good men and women come to worship and pray every day. Whether it's proposing marriage, seeking children or seeking peace, there are a wide range of faithful believers.
Looking back from the front hall, there is a quadrangle in front of you, followed by a main hall with a wing on the left and right. The main hall is the main hall of Gong Li Temple, and there is a stone furnace in the middle of the yard. Its shape is very unique, just like the alchemy furnace of Taishang Laojun, with a faucet on each side of the stone furnace. There is a saying in Sifang Township that touching this faucet can keep you safe and healthy.
Go north through the stone furnace to the main hall of Gong Li Temple. In front of this hall, there is a platform with a height of 1 m and a width of 5m. There are stone fences on the side and stone pillars in front of the hall, which adds to the sacred and solemn atmosphere of the hall.
The steps in front of the temple ascend the stairs, and the temple is sacred and solemn. There is a statue of Mr. Li Ehua in the middle, which is kind and respectful. Legend has it that there are two imperial guards who worship Mr. Li's sympathy for the poor and are willing to serve Mr. Li without fearing the noble medical ethics of the powerful. One tray gourd, one pen and ink waiting. It shows the fact that the owner of the statue, the doctor, is saving the world. Surrounded by walls are famous doctors, holy medical experts and Medog. Such as Bian Que and Li Shizhen. Standing against the wall is a graphic introduction of Li Ehua's life experience, which can simply and clearly view his brilliant life.
Go left out of the hall, go through the cloister to the east wing, about 30 meters. The whole cloister is magnificent, mostly made of wood, with exquisite paintings on it. There is a portrait of Mr. Li sitting in danger in the east wing room, and he writes the drug spectrum with a pen, which shows his style of striving for perfection and studying hard. Next to it are all kinds of instruments used by doctors at that time, such as medical instruments such as medicine rollers. In the rest of the space, there is a life-size statue of Mr. Li staying in a farmhouse restaurant, and there is also a portrayal of his life after he became rich. This hall treasures people's memories of Mr. Li's life experience.
Out of the lower steps of the east wing, through the courtyard or cloister, to the west wing. In the middle of the west wing is the real God of Wealth, on the left is Emperor Wenchang, and on the right is the God of Cars. These three gods are respected by modern people, and their admirers are in an endless stream. The god of wealth has a big face and big ears, and his right hand is a treasure, and his left hand is wishful, which means that he is blessed with making money. No matter the dignitaries or ordinary people, they can burn incense and pray for blessings, so as to make a fortune and prosper their family business. There are lucky boys and talented boys on both sides. On the left, Emperor Wenchang is the most popular scholar and scholar. His image is simple and elegant, and he looks natural. It is said that worshipping him can help his children study smoothly. On the right side of the God of Wealth is the God of Cars, the real king, and an indispensable god of contemporary chariots and horses. All along, chariots and horses have the custom of offering sacrifices to the god of chariots. Therefore, the appearance of the true king of the car god is a sign of prayer for these people. The car god Zhenjun has six arms, each with a knife, a gun, a sword, a halberd and hot wheels. It means that the road ahead is naturally flat and safe. Its face is awe-inspiring, and the three eyes of the car god Zhenjun are also burning and flashing, seeing through the uncertain future, guiding people to a bright road, and worshippers are also one after another.
Beyond the main hall is Mr. Li's tomb, surrounded by exotic flowers and herbs and various traditional Chinese medicine plants, which is also the temple's herbaceous garden.
This is the general appearance of the Temple of Gong Li. When tourists leave, they can go to the tourist shop in the temple to ask for some souvenirs from the Gong Li temple, and they can also taste authentic E Hua biscuits. As a fond memory of visiting the temple in Gong Li, I have also been guarding my health all my life, seeking wealth and happiness, having a safe trip and a happy marriage. All the staff of Gong Li Temple will also pray for the disaster and wish the people with destiny a complete life. We are also proud and honored that Shouguang can have such a temple culture that integrates folk beliefs.
