About Jianshui Ancient City:
No matter what city or country I visit, I like to get up early. Morning is a kind mother and the sunrise is her smile. If you want to see your mom smile, you have to get up early.
Jianshui is a peaceful and charming thousand-year-old city. When I opened my eyes, I was y shocked and mesmerized by the morning in the ancient city of Jianshui. The first thing you see is the gorgeous sunrise in the east. The sea of red-orange clouds halfway across the sky brought tears to my eyes.
Surrounded by the blue sky, the momentary change of the morning sun shows the eternal beauty: the gray clouds gradually turn white, the white clouds gradually turn red and yellow, and quickly spread in all directions. A patch of orange-red clouds, like the eggs fried by my grandmother when I was a child, was nice and delicious.
Those dark red clouds, like my grandfather's face when I was a child, always showed a happy smile when I was busy. But, grandparents, are there such beautiful clouds in the sky?
Such a delicate and ingenious color scheme is also very much like the costumes of our Jianshui Yi girls. The clever Yi girls can also sew beautiful dresses, pants and accessories from brightly colored fabrics. This kind of beauty is also the life I aspire to. In spite of all the hardships, I should have such a sunrise in my heart to beautify every day!
Lujiang River is the mother river of Jianshui, winding through the entire Jianshui Dam, tirelessly feeding thousands of Jianshui sons and daughters. Zhao Xia is the sister of Lujiang. Seeing her debut, Lujiang naturally can't afford her excitement.
She woke up her loyal maidservants with the "clanging" sound of soft music: the smoky willows that were close to her all the way. Immediately, the willows on both sides of the river swayed their hair and danced gracefully, facing the river and whispering to each other. Such warm companionship touched the nearby magpies.
The magpies called their friends, flew to the treetops, and kept praising the Lu River, "tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk". Magpie's praise lured the egret, a group of egrets suddenly on the green sky, suddenly down the Lujiang, in all directions to pass the wonderful story of Lujiang!
Jianshui winter does not snow, colorful home flowers wildflowers instead of the northern snow. The morning sun is the idol of flowers. Seeing its magnificent performance, each flower family competes with each other, throwing the constraints of the season out of sight, and competing with the provincial capital of Kunming for the honor of "four seasons like spring".
The most prominent are the reeds, clumps and rows of them, like mighty sentinels, standing on both sides of the countryside path. They beat the dazzling colors with their simple white. The sunrise is no more brilliant than the momentary expression of white clouds.
The most beautiful flower is a face of spring. The promise made by the reed white clouds, warmly sown on the winter earth, makes people pure and bright.
The sunrise building is a beautiful building of architectural water, the first messenger to greet the sun. The sun climbed to the top of the mountain, the clouds put on makeup and returned to its original appearance.
The old grandpas gathered in the square of the sunrise building with their beloved birdcages. The sweet song of the painted eyebrow became the main theme here, both solo and chorus. As you sing, the paintbrush quickly carries everyone's thoughts into the deep forest.
Blackbird was in full swing when a group of grandmothers entered the stage. Without saying a word, they raised their hands, twisted their waists and danced a cheerful cigarette box dance. The Cigarette Box Dance is a traditional dance in the Jianshui area, enjoyed by young and old alike.
The grandmothers danced so beautifully that the paintbrush birds were ashamed of themselves, stopped singing, and watched quietly. Live in the moment, enjoy the moment, is the old people's morning glory. This beauty has a different flavor!
Morning is beautiful. Asahi is beautiful. Jianshui is great. No matter where you are, you can meet beauty in the morning!
Jianshui was one of the most memorable stops on this Yunnan trip. I didn't realize it had such a rich history, and there are traces of the years flowing everywhere. In addition to the big festivals, walking in the old city rarely see bustling tourists, there are just come and go, busy locals. So it's very different from the commercial Dali and Lijiang.
Meanwhile, compared with foreigners, Jianshui people are more market-oriented and simple. You can feel their most real life everywhere here.
Jianshui once became the political, economic, cultural, military center and transportation hub of southern Yunnan. Due to the deep influence of the Central Plains culture, it has formed a diversified and integrated culture that combines the Han culture and the culture of the border ethnic minorities.
As early as 1994, this ancient city with deep cultural heritage was approved by the State Council as one of the third batch of National Famous Historical and Cultural Cities. After 12 centuries of construction, its ancient city still retains more than 50 ancient buildings, known as the "Museum of Ancient Architecture" and "Museum of Folk Houses".
Tourist Season
Jianshui is located in the low latitude area, the Tropic of Cancer crosses the southern border, with long sunshine time, long frost-free period, high effective temperature, and belongs to the southern subtropical monsoon climate.
Jianshui area average annual temperature of 19.8, the average annual ground temperature of 20.8, frost-free period of 307 days.
By the influence of seasonal and topographical changes, it presents a three-dimensional climate characterized by hot and rainy summers and mild and little rain in winter. Therefore, it is a good choice to travel to Jianshui in Yunnan during the haze-ridden winter in the north.
Recommended Attractions in Jianshui
[Jiazhu Garden]
Jiazhu Garden is located in the middle section of Jianxin Street in Lin'an Town, Jianshui County, about seven or eight minutes away from the Temple of Literature. It is the home and ancestral hall built by the brother of the late Qing Dynasty squire Zhu, and is known as the "Grand View Garden of Southern Yunnan".
According to the Lin'an Prefecture Records, at least in the early years of the Guangxu period, the Jiazhu family had already opened businesses in Mengzi, Changshu, Tonghai and Kunming. Shamudang Street Jiazhu Garden of this piece of land was bought at that time, and Jiazhu Garden's final completion time is actually Xuan Tong two years, that is, in 1910 AD. This large mansion, known as the "South Yunnan Grand View Garden", was only completed. The house covers an area of more than 20,000 square meters, with a building area of more than 5,000 square meters. There are 214 houses and 42 patios.
Inside the courtyard, there are various family shrines, houses, embroidery buildings, stores, waterfront theater, flower halls, gardens, lotus ponds, farmland, bamboo forests. The courtyards are crisscrossed, the houses are lined up, the layout of the halls is highly skillful, and the spatial landscape is distinct.
The doors, windows, purlins and pillars are beautifully carved. This project is too big and too complicated. It has the magnificence of Jiangnan gardens and the idyllic charm of Diannan. Elegance and sophistication are combined in a way that is really rare.
Thank God, through the vicissitudes of Jiazhu Garden was requisitioned by the army at the beginning of the liberation, and became the building of the PLA 10th Accelerated Middle School and the location of the PLA 140th Hospital. In the "Four Olds" and other movements to be preserved intact, is really lucky. But in any case, we should be grateful: many years later, we can still have such a flowery support in the Lin'an ancient mansion to pay homage to the past.
The gate of the Flower Gate House has a tile roof and triple cascading bluebells. Above the door, three elegant eaves overhang with meaningful carvings.
In front of the gate is a pair of stone drums carved with dragon and phoenix motifs. It is said that it took two masons a year to complete their work. The two masons dedicated their life's masterpiece to the world, and the Zhu family left behind this magnificent building with silver and their heart's blood.
On entering the main gate is a house with three sets of Sanjin compound, side by side. Step into the center door, facing a hollowed-out flower wall, above the moon palace gate, written on the top of the four words "compliance and discipline", and the back of the written "prudent behavior".
Miss Zhu's Embroidery House and Boudoir. The sweet words of the boudoir, "the sun is high, you still leaning on the bamboo pillar, you hate the remnants of spring", as if at any time in front of behi
Shrine has a pool, theater, pavilions, water plants and trees. Next to the pool there is a stone fence. On the stone fence are beautifully carved animals and poems.
There was a well in the patio that was also different. Not only does the water in the well never run out, but better yet, its water level is always higher than the ground. In those days, the Zhu family regarded it as a "source of wealth". Because her water level was so high, you didn't need a bucket to reach the surface.
The Jia Zhu Garden is an astonishing whole. Seeing it reminds one of the Summer Palace and the Grand View Garden in Dream of the Red Chamber. There are reasons why people are shocked. First, it's amazing that such a large-scale building can appear in the southwest. Not to mention the private mansion, not to mention the unimaginably high level of humanities, geography and craftsmanship that went into its construction.
Best Season: January-December, four seasons to visit. Jaju Garden has a unique charm in its gesture in different seasons, and its architecture is as delicate and magnificent as a treasure.

Jianshui Temple of Literature
Confucius Temple, the alias of Confucius Temple More commonly known as the "Temple of Confucius", it is a place of Confucianism. Feudal dynasties held Confucius in high esteem, so it was a national event to build temples and worship Confucius. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, every state, prefecture and county had a Confucian temple or temple of literature. Its quantity, high regulation and superb architectural technology and art are the most prominent types of ancient Chinese architecture, and it is an extremely important part of China's ancient cultural heritage. At present, there are only 300 well-preserved Confucian temples in China, 21 of which are listed as national key cultural relics protection units.
Shuiwen Temple was first built in the 22nd year of the reign of Yuan Zhiyuan, and has a history of more than 700 years. After more than 50 times of expansion and repair, the area has reached 76,000 square meters, ranking first in the country's large Temple, is a national key cultural relics protection units. The organ newspaper compiled Yunnan Tongzhi, compiled in the Republic of China, recorded Jianshui Temple of Literature is the second largest in Shandong Province after Qufu Temple of Literature.
Climb a few stone steps from the edge of the platform behind the pool. The "Zhu Siyuan Garden" square has three thresholds, nine meters high, wood and stone structure. Giant stone sculptures of dragons, lions and elephants stand high on the square pedestals, arched by wooden frames.
In addition to the official ceremonies, there were also private ceremonies until the end of the Republican rule on the mainland. After 1949, the ceremonies to Confucius were largely canceled, and some people believed that they had gone to China. "During the Cultural Revolution, a campaign was launched to criticize the forest and Confucius, and the worship of Confucius was outlawed as a feudal superstition, and many Confucian temples and monuments were destroyed. So few people know about the many rituals and dances dedicated to Confucius. It was not until 1984 that the Confucian Temple in Qufu restored the folk worship of Confucius. Then other places in China began to worship Confucius one after another.
Twenty-two wooden screen doors are carved with pictures of different kinds of creatures, six of which are of the "Six Dragons Holding the Holy Spirit," six three-dimensional carved dragons prancing between the clouds and the water, the sacred seat of Confucius in the temple.
The glazed yellow tile five-room hall, leaning on the top of the hill, is supported by twenty five-meter-high pillars, of which twenty-two lapis lazuli pillars are all chiseled and ground. Support the left and right front eaves of the two stone pillars, the center carved into the shape of a dragon and auspicious clouds. "Stone dragon holding columns" beautifully carved, very rare.
In the early years, Lin'an Middle School was founded by the local temple. Now it has been changed to Jianshui No. 1 Middle School, and many new buildings have been built next to the temple. This was once the holy place of Confucius Temple, and now it has become a place for young people to study. The Confucius Temple is still intact, thanks to the government and the school's emphasis on the preservation of monuments.
The best
Tuan Gu Village is a quiet place in Jianshui, Yunnan Province, where not many people disturb it. It was selected for the 2006 World Heritage List of Monumental Architectural Heritage Protection. It is a famous historical and cultural village with many historical relics, complete overall pattern and authentic traditional style; it is an "original ecological village with complete preservation of the 19th century style", and "the most exquisite ancient residential houses in Yunnan". The sophistication of the mountain architecture has not declined because of its long history, and people have been living there for generations. Although the wood of many old houses has survived for more than a hundred years, it is still immortal. For this reason, Tuan Shan was named the "Ancient City of Loulan in Yunnan".
There are more than 20 buildings of the Qing Dynasty and 3 gates in the village, of which the "Suo Cui Lou" is the most spectacular.
The Tuanzhang family has a very rich cultural background. Into the Zhang residence in Tuanzhang, everywhere you can see such couplets: for example, "Iron shoulders are difficult to shoulder moral justice, the article is difficult to write", "there is better to have fun than not have fun, as long as more reading". "The court is still fragrant, Xie Cao Zheng Gui Shu; the family has nothing, Tang poetry and gold characters are all national literature." Between the lines, the Zhang family's creed of life leaps off the page.
The buildings in Tuan Gu Village are dominated by the Ming and Qing architectural styles. All the buildings have green tiles on the roofs, stucco exterior walls and green bricks for wainscoting. Each building is decorated with wood carvings, stone carvings, brick carvings, colorful paintings, calligraphy and paintings, all of which are exquisite and rustic, and the screen doors, lattice fans, beams, corridors and eaves are all exquisite works of art.
In fact, the ancient Jianshui Ancient City is already a museum of ancient architecture, but who would have thought that a quiet village, Tuan Shan, more than 10 kilometers away from Jianshui, hides a magnificent Han Chinese residence that has survived 600 years of wind and rain? That's because it's rare in remote ethnic minority areas.
The reason why the ancient buildings of Tuan Shan village have been preserved intact to this day, according to architectural experts, is because: Tuan Shan was built on a hill with a slightly higher terrain; the building materials are exquisite and the workmanship is exquisite; plus several generations of people. The wood of many old houses, although weathered for more than a hundred years, is still incorruptible and has not been infested by insects. People in the mountain villages say, "It's passed down from generation to generation, it's not easy."
