The 2023 Baoji Marathon started in the administrative center square of Baoji City, attracting 20,000 professionals and road runners from all over the country. After fierce competition, Li Bo from Chongqing won the men's all-horse championship in 2 hours 14 minutes and 46 seconds. The first place in the women's marathon was Dou from Yunnan, with a score of 2 hours and 36 minutes.
As one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization, Baoji, Shaanxi Province, located in the middle reaches of the Weihe River in the Yellow River basin, was called "Chencang" in ancient times. It is the hometown of Emperor Yan, the birthplace of Zhou and Qin culture and the hometown of bronzes. With the theme of "Millennium Treasure, Take the Lead", the event is co-sponsored by Shaanxi Provincial Sports Bureau and Baoji Municipal People's Government, and is the first city marathon in Baoji.
Introduction of marathon race
There are three events in this competition: full marathon, half marathon and happy run. The number of participants is 5,000, 8,000 and 7,000 respectively. This marathon passes through key places, parks, squares and landmark buildings in four main urban areas of Baoji City, namely Jintai, Weibin, Chencang and Gaoxin, so that participants can feel the beautiful, livable, passionate and energetic Baoji city with a long history and culture.
Along the track, the local people cheered for the players with enthusiastic shouts and cheers. They waved colorful flags in their hands, inspiring every runner. According to the organizer, as the first marathon, Baoji Marathon summed up the successful experience of many local half-horse races, introduced the "blue guide line" to create the "fastest racing track in Northwest China" and stimulated the potential of the contestants.
