Of course, all of this is built on a succession of hunts. Zhang Yimou has taken the "undercover" role to his martial arts dramas, and many of the characters in "Ambush on Ten Fronts," in addition to Takeshi, including Zhang Ziyi and Andy Lau, have dual identities.
"Ambush on Ten Faces" had a mixed reception after its domestic release, with many people commenting on the plot and the actors' performances, but that didn't stop the film from breaking the domestic box office record set by "Hero" with 150 million yuan, and it was also well-received by critics and audiences in North America, where it was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for best foreign-language film.
In the thirteenth year of Dazhong in Tang Dynasty, the Emperor was a mediocre man and the court was corrupt, so many anti-government organizations emerged in the civil society, among which the Flying Daggers Sect was the most powerful. The Flying Daggers, with its many masters and its slogan of "killing the rich and helping the poor, overthrowing the imperial court", was very popular among the people. The headquarters of the Flying Daggers is located in Fengtian County, which is close to the capital city of Chang'an, thus directly threatening the security of Chang'an. The imperial court was y concerned and ordered Fengtian County to eliminate them. Although Liu Yunfei, the leader of the Flying Daggers, was killed in the battle with the soldiers of Fengtian County, the momentum of the Flying Daggers has increased under the leadership of the new leader.
The two main constables of Fengtian County, Liu (Andy Lau) and Jin (Takeshi Kaneshiro), are ordered to arrest the new leader of the Flying Daggers within ten days. Liu suspects that Little Sister (Zhang Ziyi), a courtesan at the Peony House, is the daughter of Liu Yunfei, the former leader of the Flying Daggers, and they plan to capture her and take her to the Heavenly Jail. The two of them set up a trap again: a police constable, disguised as the warrior Suifeng, robs the prison at night and rescues Siu Siu; by doing so, they trick Siu Siu into trusting them, and find out where the Flying Daggers are hiding, so that the gang can be eliminated in one fell swoop.
Following the plan, Suifeng rescues her. On the way to escape, Suifeng takes good care of Xiao Mei, and Xiao Mei can't help but fall in love with him; while Suifeng spends a lot of time with Xiao Mei, and is y attracted by her elegant temperament. On the night of the moon and the stars, the two of them can't hold back the fire of their passionate love, and it seems to be out of control. ......
