"The Years Are Here" was created by the director team of Guo Benmin, a senior documentary expert of the Central New Film Group, as the chief director, Hao Yun, a national-level director, and Liu Yang, an up-and-coming director, over a period of two years, with the title of the film written by actor Tang Guoqiang and the voice-over narration by actor Zhang Ye.
"The Years Are Here" is based on the precious documentary film footage shot by several generations of documentary filmmakers of the New Film Studio, selected from 500,000 minutes of precious video materials, and finally preserved as the most characteristic memories of each era, reflecting the changes in people's production and life since the founding of New China.
The documentary spans from the "Three Battles" in 1948 to the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China in 2019, exposing for the first time a large number of precious images of **** and the country in the form of a chronicle of the extraordinary years passed by the Party, the country and the people. Among them are many vivid and real video images, refurbishment of Tiananmen Square, Anhui Fengyang Xiaogang village to take the lead in the implementation of the big package of dry, China's women's volleyball team to win the World Cup, Lao She, Bajin and other appearances in the Central News and Documentary Factory Spring Festival gala, the 1998 floods, and so on.
Last year, the film was nominated for the 33rd Golden Rooster Award for Best Documentary/Science Teaching Film, a nomination for the 2020 China-U.S. International Film Festival, and a nomination for the 2020 Communication University of China Academy Award for Best Documentary.
