Introduction to Roulianxiang

"Rou Lian Xiang" is a local ethnic dance variety native to Lichuan City, Hubei Province, with unique physical performance as the main form. It is popular in Duting, Baiyang and Wangying areas of the city , the dance is mainly named after the palms hitting the forehead, shoulders, face, arms, elbows, waist, legs and other parts to make rhythmic sounds. "Roulianxiang" used to be called "Roulianxiang", and its movements are similar to the traditional folk dance "Dalianxiang". Because the dance is characterized by the sound produced by the physical collision, the villagers are accustomed to calling it "flesh continuous sound". The "Rou Lian Xiang" dance has humorous and lively movements and is very popular among the masses. However, due to the difficulty of the performance and the high movement requirements, there are not many practitioners. On June 7, 2008, Rouxiang was included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list by the State Council.
