On September 15, 2021, the 11th National Games opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. This is the largest National Games in the history of Chinese sports. The Games *** set up 33 major sports, 408 minor sports, participating athletes reached 12,000 people, an increase of nearly 2,000 people over the previous session, a record high. The theme of the games was "marching towards a new era of sports power", aiming to show the development results of Chinese sports, motivate the general public to actively participate in sports, and promote China's sports to a higher level.
The experience on the field of play: experiencing the training process of athletes
As ordinary spectators, it is hard for us to imagine how the athletes train every day. During the National Games, we had the opportunity to experience the training process of the athletes. At the Hangzhou Sports Center, we visited the training grounds for track and field, swimming and diving. On the track and field, we saw athletes running and jumping in the hot weather, their clothes were wet with sweat, but they still insisted on training. In the swimming pool, we see the athletes in the water constantly paddling, breathing in an orderly manner, every time out of the water is so beautiful. In the diving hall, we saw the athletes jumping down from high altitude and making all kinds of difficult movements, which made people marveled. Through these personal experiences, we y realize the dedication and hard work of the athletes and love sports more.
Volunteer service: heartfelt service to help the National Games
The volunteer team of the National Games reached 40,000 people, who came from various fields and escorted the Games with their practical actions. In the competition venues, the volunteers provided the audience with guide, guidance, translation and other services; in downtown Hangzhou, the volunteers provided route guidance and counseling services for the tourists who came to watch the games. With their enthusiastic, patient and meticulous services, they made every audience feel the warm atmosphere of the National Games and contributed to the tourism industry of Hangzhou.
Closing Ceremony: Successful conclusion, goodbye to the 11th National Games
On the evening of September 27, 2021, the 11th National Games came to a successful conclusion at the Olympic Sports Center in Hangzhou. The Games*** produced 1,389 gold medals, 1,149 silver medals, and 964 bronze medals, an increase of 52, 51, and 48 medals, respectively, over the previous edition, a record high. At the closing ceremony, the organizers brought a wonderful cultural performance to the audience, showing the great depth of Chinese culture. In the course of the National Games, we have seen the hard work of the athletes, the dedication of the volunteers, the enthusiasm of the spectators, and the prosperous development of Chinese sports.
