When I was a child, I was fascinated by Chinese characters, and after I drew a picture, I would always put up my pen and sign my name on the picture. At that time, I was so small that I could only write a few simple characters such as "大", "小", "人", and so on. I would write "small adult" on the corner of the painting in a crooked way. Sometimes I couldn't remember, so I wrote "大人小" or "人小大". When I look at it now, I can't help but laugh out loud.
When I graduated from kindergarten, I finally knew how to write my name. In order to make my drawing look better, I divided the three characters Zhang Hening evenly among the four corners of the drawing, and I actually wrote the character Crane in two characters by separating it from the left and right. At that time, I didn't think it was funny, and I was still proud of it!
After I went to elementary school, I ridiculously wrote "rooster" as "split rooster" and "hen" as "every rooster" in my essay. The teacher would see this and write "every chicken" instead of "rooster" in my essays. When the teacher saw this, she would draw a few red circles in my composition book.
Though these were just mistakes due to sloppiness, they always made me respect the Chinese characters and made me feel that they were so magical and interesting, and that they could express more and deeper things than those pinyin characters could. It's because of the fun of Chinese characters that I love to write essays. I want to whisper to the Chinese characters from the bottom of my heart, "I love you so much!"
In the process of becoming literate and recognizing characters, I have also had some interesting little stories with them. I remember once, during the Olympic Games, when the two big words "Pride" appeared on the TV screen, I innocently pointed to them and said proudly to my dad, "White elephant!" Before I could respond, my dad suddenly burst out laughing. It turned out to be the word "pride".
Chinese characters are so interesting, close to the same character, shape and sound, homophonic characters ...... I like Chinese characters because of its changes, its peculiarities, its appearance, they are like a little elf, so interesting, so lively, and at any time to express a joyful mood.
As a Chinese, I feel honored and proud. Because, we have a masterpiece in China - that is Chinese characters. I live every day happily under the company of Chinese characters.
This is my story with Chinese characters.
