Biography of Jin Bo

Born in Beijing in 1935, Jin Bo, originally from Jixian County, Hebei Province, was admitted to the Chinese Department of Beijing Normal College in 1957. During his studies, he began to publish his works. After graduation, he stayed at the school and taught in the Chinese and Music Departments. He is now a professor at Capital Normal University, a member of the Children's Literature Committee of the Chinese Writers' Association, and the director of the Children's Literature Creative Committee of the Beijing Writers' Association. Over the past forty years, he has published more than forty kinds of poems, children's stories, essays, early childhood literature, literary criticism, and collections of poems and songs, as well as anthologies such as Selected Children's Poems of Jin Bo, Collected Children's Poetry of Jin Bo, Children's Fairy Tales of Jin Bo, Children's Songs of Jin Bo, Selected Works of Jin Bo, and so on. His works have won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd National Excellent Children's Literature Awards of the Chinese Writers' Association, the 1st and 2nd National Early Childhood Book Awards, the 2nd Bingxin Children's Book Award for New Works, and the 4th Soong Ching Ling Children's Literature Award, etc. He was recommended to be a candidate of the International Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1992.
