Flamengo's previous life

The word "Flamengo" comes from the Arabic word "fleeing farmers". There are different opinions about its origin. It is recognized that gypsies set out from northern India and trudged to southern Spain, bringing a mixed music. Therefore, this kind of music and dance combines the elements of India, Arabia, Judaism and even Byzantium, and later it is infused with nutrients from southern Spain, and the Gypsies living in Andalusia, Spain (also known as flamencos) make it stereotyped and famous.

Men's dance is more complicated, with feet, toes and feet following the ground, and the rhythm is fast. Traditionally, women's dance mainly shows the graceful beauty of wrists, arms and trunk. During the performance, the dancers spontaneously issued "Halleo", that is, clapping their hands, twisting their fingers and shouting excitedly. Of course, with the professionalization of flamenco dance, dancers' brushstrokes and styles have also been more strictly regulated, and mature dance dramas like Salome have also emerged.

Gypsies grew up in flamenco dance environment, and all families can dance or sing. It is no exaggeration to say that they are of flamenco descent and even claim that "only gypsies can really dance flamenco well". The variety, indulgence and freedom of gypsy life make flamenco dance show freedom, enthusiasm and contradiction.
