The White Dragon Horse in Journey to the West returned from the scriptures, and was ordained by Lord Buddha as the "Southern Eight Heavenly Dragons Wide Power Bodhisattva".
White Dragon Horse was the third son of Ao Leun, the Dragon King of the Western Sea, known as the Third Prince of the Jade Dragon, whose real name is unknown. White Dragon Horse was sentenced to death by his own father in the Heavenly Court for setting fire to the Pearl of the Temple. Fortunately, he was rescued by the Goddess of Mercy and waited for the scripture-takers at the Eagle's Nostalgia Stream in the Snake Plate Mountain.
White Dragon Horse, because he did not know the Tang Priest and the Monkey King, swallowed the Tang Priest's white horse by mistake, and then was enlightened by the Goddess of Mercy, sawed his horns and retreated his scales, and turned into a White Dragon Horse, which carried the Tang Priest on his journey to the west. After obtaining the scriptures, he was honored by the Buddha as "Namo Eight Heavenly Dragons and Wide Power Bodhisattva".
