Gently I go,
just as I gently come;
I gently wave my hand,
as I bid farewell to the clouds of the western sky.
The golden willows along the river
are the bride in the sunset
the colorful shadows in the waves,
swirling in my heart.
The green yellow floating heart on the soft mud,
oiled and waving at the bottom of the water;
in the soft waves of the Kang River,
I am willing to be a water plant
The pool under the shade of the trees,
is not a clear spring, it is a rainbow in the sky
crumbled between the floating algae,
deposited with rainbow-like dreams.
Dreams? Holding a pole,
To the grass is more green roaming,
Laden with a boat full of starlight,
In the starlight splendor to sing
However, I can't play the song,
Silence is the parting of the psaltery;
Summer bugs are also silent for me,
Silence is the Kangqiao tonight!
Quietly I go,
just as I came quietly;
I wave my sleeve,
without taking away a cloud.
November 6
①Written on November 6, 1928, and first published in the December 10, 1928 issue of the monthly magazine Crescent Moon, Vol. 1, No. 10, signed by Xu Zhimo. The poet traveled to Cambridge from October 1920 to August 1922, where the famous Cambridge University is located. The Cambridge period was a turning point in Xu Zhimo's life. The poet once stated in the preface of "The Book of Tigers? Preface", the poet said that before the age of 24, he was much less interested in poetry than in relativism or the theory of civil contract. It was the water of the Kham River that opened up the poet's spirit and awakened the poet's destiny that had long been stung in his heart. Therefore, he later said with deep emotion: "My eyes were opened by Kangqiao, my desire for knowledge was stimulated by Kangqiao, and my self-consciousness was embryoed by Kangqiao." ("Smoking and Culture")
In 1928, the poet returned to his hometown, and on Nov. 6, on the South China Sea on his way home, he composed this heirloom. The poem was originally published in the December 10, 1928 "New Moon" monthly magazine, Volume 1, No. 10, later included in the "Tiger Collection". It can be said that the "Kangqiao complex" runs through Xu Zhimo's life; and "Farewell to Kangqiao" is undoubtedly one of the most famous pieces.
The first stanza describes the sadness of a long-lost student bidding farewell to his alma mater. The use of three "gently" makes us feel as if the poet, on tiptoe, came like a breeze and swung away silently; and the deepest feelings, even between the beckoning hands, turned into "clouds in the western sky." Stanzas 2 through 6 describe the poet's dream of canoeing in the Kang River. Draped in the sunset of the golden willow, soft mud on the green floating heart, the shade of the water pool, one by one into the eyes. The two metaphors used are quite exquisite: the first one will be "the golden willows along the river" boldly imagined as "the bride in the sunset", so that the inanimate scenery, into a living creature, warm and lovely; the second is the clear pool of water suspected to be The second is to suspect the clear water of the pool as a "rainbow in the sky", which, after being crushed by the floating algae, turns into a "rainbow-like dream". It is in the confusion between the poet, such as Zhuangzhou dream butterfly, things I two wills, straight feel "in the light of the waves of the colorful shadow / in my heart ripples", and willing to be in the soft waves of the Kanghe River, do a fluttering watercress. This subject-object unity of good structure is not only a wonderful hand accidentally, but also the work of a thousand hammers; stanzas 5 and 6, the poet turned out a new layer of meaning. Borrowing from "dream/searching for a dream", "a boat full of starlight,/singing in the starlight splendor", "singing,/but I can't sing", "the summer bugs are also silent for I am silent / Silence is tonight's Kangqiao" four superimposed lines, the whole poem to the climax, just as the water of the Kang River, a wave of three twists and turns! And he is in the grass is more green, starbursts in barefooted song of the madness has not been accomplished, at this time the silence and speechless, but also more than how many words of love ah! The last stanza corresponds with the first stanza with three "quietly". The last stanza corresponds with the first quatrain with three "quiets". Waving his sleeve, what is it that he shakes off? There is no need to repeat. Since I have been in Kangqiao once, why should I take away a piece of cloud? The whole poem is a breath of fresh air, is the best description of Xu Zhimo's "poetic life". Hu Shih said, "His outlook on life is really a kind of 'simple faith', which has only three big words: one is love, one is freedom, and one is beauty. He dreamed that these three ideal conditions could converge in one life, and this was his 'simple faith'. The history of his life is only the history of his pursuit of the realization of this simple faith." ("In Memoriam Xu Zhimo") If this is true, then isn't the poet's wandering by the Kang River an epitome of this pursuit? Xu Zhimo was an advocate of poetry of art. He y respected Wen Yiduo's poetic proposition of the beauty of music, painting, and architecture, and particularly emphasized the beauty of music. He even said: "...... understand the life of the poem is in its internal syllables (Internal rhythm) of the truth, we can appreciate the real interest of the poem; no matter how noble the thought, how passionate the emotion, you have to bring to the bottom of the 'musicalization' (that's what the poem is). Musicalization' (that is poetic), in order to obtain the understanding of the poem, ......" ("Poetry Journal Holiday").
On the contrary, the poem "Farewell to Kangqiao": the whole poem **** seven stanzas, each stanza of four lines, each line of two or three stanzas, eclectic and rigorous, rhyming style strictly adhere to the two, four rhymes, rhythm and staccato, catchy. This beautiful rhythm ripples out like a ripple, which is not only the sound of the pious student's dream, but also fits the ebb and flow of the poet's feelings, and has a unique aesthetic pleasure. The seven stanzas of the poem are arranged in a staggered manner, in which the rhymes are spread out slowly, which is quite like the poet's temperament of "long robe and white face, thin and cold island". It can be said that it embodies the beauty of Xu Zhimo's poetry.
Saying Good-bye to Cambridge Again --- by Xu Zhimo
Farewell to Cambridge Xu Zhimo
Very quietly I take my leave
As quietly as I came here;
Very quietly I take my leave
As quietly as I came here;
Quietly I wave good-bye
To the rosy clouds in the western sky.
The golden willows by the riverside
Are young brides in the setting
Their reflections on the shimmering waves
Always linger in the depth of my heart.
The floatingheart growing in the sludge
Sways leisurely under the water;
In the gentle waves of Cambridge
I would be a water plant!
That pool under the shade of elm trees
However, it is not possible for me to be a water plant.
That pool under the shade of elm trees
Holds not water but the rainbow from the sky;
Shattered to pieces among the duckweeds
Is the sediment of a rainbow-like dream? Just to pole a boat upstream
To where the green grass is more verdant;
Or to have the boat fully loaded with starlight
To where the green grass is more verdant;
Or to have the boat fully loaded with starlight
To where the green grass is more verdant.
Or to have the boat fully loaded with starlight
And sing aloud in the splendour of starlight.
But I cannot sing aloud
Quietness is my farewell music;
Even summer insects heep silence for me
Even Summer insects heep silence for me
Silent is Cambridge tonight!
Very quietly I take my leave
As quietly as I came here;
Gently I flick my sleeves
The splendour of starlight
But I cannot sing aloud.
Not even a wisp of cloud will I bring away
Biography of Xu Zhimo:
Xu Zhimo (1896-1931) was a native of Haining, Zhejiang Province, who studied in England in 1920 and became a representative poet of the Crescent Moon Poetry School when he joined the Crescent Moon Society in 1923. School of Poetry. "Zhimo is a butterfly, not a bee, and the benefits of a woman will not be gained, and the disadvantages of a woman will make him sacrifice."
Appreciation of Farewell to Kangqiao:
Farewell to Kangqiao is a beautiful lyrical poem, like a piece of elegant and melodious light music.
In the fall of 1928, the author once again visited England, and revisited the old places, bursting with poetic excitement, and transformed his own experience of life into a wisp of love, melting in the beautiful scenery of Kangqiao, which is written. The beautiful scenery of Cambridge is also in the poet's imagination.
The whole poem is written with the words "gently", "walk", "come", "beckon", "bidding farewell to the clouds", "to the clouds", "to the clouds", "to the clouds", "to the clouds", "to the clouds", "to the clouds".
The whole poem starts with "gently", "walk", "come", "beckon", "bidding farewell to the clouds", and then uses the technique of mixing the real and the imaginary to depict a picture of the flow of the picture, which constitutes a wonderful scene, and meticulously expresses the poet's love for Kangqiao, his longing for the life of the past, and his inexorable sadness for the present in a sincere, rich and meaningful way.
This poem shows the poet's high artistic skill. The poet combines concrete scenery with imagination to form a vivid artistic image of the poem, and skillfully blends atmosphere, feelings, and scenery into a mood, so as to realize that there is a mood in the scene and a scene in the mood. The structure of the poem is rigorous and neat, and is staggered. The whole poem has 7 stanzas, 4 lines in each stanza, forming two parallel steps; 1, 3 lines are a little shorter, 2, 4 lines are a little longer, ranging from 6 to 8 words in each line. The poet seems to have intentionally combined the form of both metrical and free verse, making it a new form of poetry, rich in nationalization and modernized architectural beauty. The language of the poem is fresh and beautiful, and the rhythm is soft and gentle, harmonious and natural, accompanied by the ups and downs of emotions, like a pleasant and slow prose, light and graceful, plucking the reader's heartstrings.
Wen Yiduo, a poet, advocated the "beauty of music," "beauty of painting," and "beauty of architecture" in modern poetry in the 1920s. The poem "Farewell to Kangqiao" can be said to have the "three beauties", and it can be called a masterpiece of Xu Zhimo's poetry.
In the history of modern Chinese literature, Xu Zhimo gives people a very deep impression. His dashing appearance, ethereal demeanor, passionate character and his romantic poems wanted to infect countless heavy lovers. Unfortunately, he suffered a plane crash in his youth, as he wrote in the poem Farewell to Kangqiao: "Quietly I am gone, just as I came quietly, I wave my sleeve without taking away a cloud." Thirty-four years old, he went ......
Xu Zhimo is an idealist and romantic. Hu Shih once said, "His outlook on life is really a kind of simple faith, which contains only three big words: one is love, one is freedom, and one is beauty. He dreamed that these three ideal conditions could meet in one life; this was his pure faith." Perhaps because of this pure faith, Xu Zhimo's love in his life has been frustrated. When he was studying in England, he pursued Lin Huiyin, but she was uncertain about him. When he returned to China, he pursued Lu Xiaoman, a married woman, and was scolded by Liang Qichao. However, this emotional disillusionment created Xu Zhimo's literary splendor. I think the most fundamental reason for this is the lyrical poetry he left behind: it is "poetry that comes from the warmth of the soul". I regret Xu Zhimo's naivety, he delayed in fantasy, love is also unrealistic, and even sometimes even went astray and hit his head, but there is no doubt that I have deep respect for his heart for some of the beautiful things in the pursuit of passion, bravery and perseverance. It's just that literary aesthetics often exceeds reality, and Xu Zhimo was too radical for this kind of transcendence.
In the fall of 1920, Xu Zhimo went to England. Originally, he was going to go there to worship Russell of Cambridge University as a teacher. But when he arrived in England, he realized that Russell was no longer in England and had gone to China to lecture. Moreover, Russell was removed from Cambridge University for opposing the First World War. Later, Xu Zhimo was introduced by the British writer Dickinson and was able to enter Cambridge University. During this time, Xu Zhimo met Lin Changmin, the chief justice of the Beiyang government, and his daughter, Lin Huiyin, and he began to pursue this beautiful young talented woman. For this reason, Xu Zhimo dissolved his marriage with his ex-wife Zhang Youyi. But unfortunately, the later Lin Huiyin still married Liang Sicheng, the son of Liang Qichao.
So, a "Farewell to Hongqiao", Xu Zhimo warm, sincere, gentle, delicate and slightly ethereal romanticism personality, made a full display, leaving an extremely deep impression on future generations:
Gently I left, just as I gently come; I gently waved goodbye to the clouds of the western sky. The golden willow on the riverbank is the bride in the setting sun; the colorful shadow in the wave light is rippling in my heart. Nymphoides on the soft mud, oily underwater waving; in the soft waves of the Kanghe River, I am willing to be a water plant! The pool under the shade of the elm is not a clear spring, but a rainbow in the sky. It is a rainbow in the sky. It is crumbled between the floating algae and precipitated a rainbow-like dream. Looking for a dream? Holding a Penny, to the grass is even more green roaming; full of a boat full of starlight, in the starlight colorful song. But I can't sing, quietly is the parting psalm; summer insects have been silent for me, silence is tonight's Kangqiao; quietly I left, just as I quietly came; I waved my sleeve, not taking away a cloud.
Xu Zhimo is so mimosa-like touch and baby-like emotion to perceive love, it is his simple concept of love to his poems infused with romantic atmosphere. Although this romance can not become a reality, but Xu Zhimo's hot and delicate emotions, in the lines of poetry with the Kang River quietly flowing.
As the first artistic feature of Xu Zhimo's poetry, it is the painstaking and somewhat deliberate pursuit of poetic imagery. He is really good at capturing images in life, and good at discovering poetic interest in life, and make the images of life and poetic interest blend into his works, thus constituting a higher aesthetic realm. As the imagery in the poem, for example, "Farewell to Kangqiao" appears "clouds", "golden willow", "colorful shadow", "green floating heart", "watery heart", "watery heart", "watery heart", "watery heart", "watery heart", "watery heart", "watery heart" and "watery heart". ", "watercress", "rainbow", "dream", "artemisia", "starlight", "pith", "summer insects", "Kangqiao", " Sleeve" and other images, these are the poet treasured in the depths of the heart of an emotion, these images of the virtual and the poet in the heart of the real love, a mirror, one by one, all show the tension of the imagery. By giving the objective objects an emotional color through emotionalization, these images from flat to strange, and thus the whole poem seems to be more ethereal and has the aura. Therefore, "Farewell to Cambridge" has become a famous piece of poetry written by Xu Zhimo from the depths of his spirit.
Then look at the poem, the "golden willow on the river", "the colorful shadow of the waves", not only in his "heart ripples", but also a dreamlike magical power, prompting him to The spirit of flying, whimsical, "full of a boat full of starlight, in the starlight spotting song". The composition of a series of imagery shows that Xu Zhimo had already accepted the influence of British Romantic poetry and absorbed the characteristics of European Symbolist and Impressionist poetry. In addition, each stanza of Farewell to Kangqiao consists of four lines, and the rhyme scheme strictly adheres to the two and four rhymes, with two or three stanzas per line. The whole poem is well organized, with resounding rhymes, but in order to express the emotions more aptly, it does not adhere to the "evenness of the lines". The line "Seeking a dream? The line "Holding a Penny" is like the ripples on a calm lake, which makes the whole poem full of life. The rhythm of the whole poem matches with the rise and fall of the poet's emotion, the whole poem is staccato and catchy, with a lingering sound after reading, giving people a unique aesthetic pleasure. This also reflects the fact that Xu Zhimo, on the one hand, drew on the charm and rhythm of the British Romantic poets and, on the other hand, gradually developed his poems into the prototype of a new kind of poetry according to the characteristics of the Chinese vernacular.
The artistic achievement of Xu Zhimo's poetry is in the three aspects of spirit, imagery, and meter, and it can be said that his poems are characterized by these three major artistic features. Moreover, these three are actually inseparably united in his poems: the spirit of nature, to a large extent, needs to be embodied through imagery, and imagery, too, needs to be accomplished through the important aspect of musical beauty. They ****together constitute the whole of Xu Zhimo's poetic art, so that his poems not only enjoy a high status in art, but also bring to the development of the new Chinese poetry certain experiences with universal art, and make a contribution that some other poets failed to make.

Costing 2.5 million dollars! A hundred-member brigade traveled to Wuzhen to shoot the first wave of hit 'Chinese Words'!
S.H.I.P. is practicing "RAP with tongue twisters"! S.H.E welcomes the challenge of 'tongue work'!
S.H.E and Monk BATTLE! The monk shows off his "inhuman" martial arts skills!
S.H.E, who just finished their "S.H.E Moving Castle Taiwan Concert" at the end of last year, has also started the preparation of their new album. After months of intensive training and preparation, S.H.E will release their tenth album in mid-May! S.H.E explains, "S.H.E's tenth album is a very important one in our singing career! We've been trying out a lot of new and interesting musical ideas for a while now, and it took us longer than ever to record almost 20 songs before we decided on the best ones! We've also tried a lot of new things in terms of styling! In order to shoot the music video for the first wave of the hit song "Chinese Words", Huayan spent more than 2.5 million dollars and mobilized more than 100 staff members to shoot the video in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province, which is a famous ancient city built more than 1,300 years ago and is known as "China's Last House on the Water".
Director Yi-Zhong Ma specially invited orthodox Shaolin martial arts monks, Tai Chi masters, and hip-hop dance teachers from various countries to perform with S.H.E. to interpret the song, which is a fusion of Eastern and Western flavors. The group danced in the square in front of the ancient Nga Men in Wuzhen. The content of "Chinese Words" mainly describes that the world is now in the grip of China fever! With at least 30 million non-Chinese people learning Chinese, and some countries in Europe and the United States having made it a compulsory foreign language, ELLA reveals, "This song is the work of a very good writer from the Mainland! It's a very new thing for us to try," says ELLA. SELINAH also said, "It's actually a fusion of hip-hop and Chinese style, rapping is very popular among young people nowadays! But in fact, Chinese people have been rapping for a long time! The old tongue-twisters used to feel very much like that." HEBE also reveals, "Because the album is called 'PLAY', we've gone crazy with the music! This time we're singing the tongue twisters as RAP, hoping to create a new trend! But the tongue-twisters were a real pain in the ass! The 3 of us practiced until our tongues were in knots before recording! But now we're great! Welcome to the challenge!" I thought he was suffering from heatstroke, but when I saw him standing upside down with his legs crossed and his bald head on the stone floor, I was shocked! I almost screamed and forgot to dance! Because the other two did not see it, they asked to have a battle with the masters after the show to see their real skills! The masters did a few backflips, plus some difficult body movements similar to yoga, which made HEBE scream, "God, I love you! The masters said folded! The whole body is super soft! The folds are not humanoid at all! Amazing! ELLA, on the other hand, choked out, "We S.H.E. also have real kung fu! But it's in music!
S.H.E. asked about the local temperature before they left for Shanghai to organize their luggage, and they were told that the temperature was between 7℃ and 23℃, so SELINA, who is afraid of the cold, brought a long ankle-length down jacket, but they didn't realize that the temperature was as high as 25℃ when they were filming today! The staff had to put up umbrellas to cover the sun during the shooting, which made SELINA sigh helplessly: "It's fine! At least the weather is good! It's a beautiful day to shoot! Luckily, I'm wearing a tank top and shorts today, so it's quite cool! Taking advantage of the shooting break, S.H.E also went to various spots in Wuzhen to take photos and commemorate the occasion. 3 of them also made a gesture of picking up an oar to row a boat! Each island is connected by more than 10 bridges in the park. Like where we live, we have to take this boat, which is very similar to the ancient boat, and the boatman will row slowly to get there! Selina, on the other hand, was like discovering a new continent: "Boats are a very important means of transportation here! But I realized that the boats parked along the shore were KTV rooms! Isn't it wonderful? If you're free, you should try singing and dancing on a boat, you'll probably get seasick."

Title: Farewell Kangqiao
Album: Play
Lyrics:
Composer:
Horses' hooves trampled down the stone streets, and deep in the narrow alleys, there were people praying
After the rain, puddles of churches tumbled down, and forty-degree angles of the stream of consciousness were reached
The library. In front of the library stood half a stone statue, six pence to take a sketch
The fireplace spit out its flames in solitude all day long, and under the kerosene lamps the years went by undisturbed
You were lonely in Cambridge, wearing a black gown, and you sang of your love in verse with beautiful rhymes
The boatloads of starlight witnessed that classical embrace, and the watercress still misses the artemisia that you held up
You were lonely in Cambridge and wore Chinese gowns
You were lonely in Cambridge and wore Chinese gowns.
Who's sleeve took that cloud's arrival away from you, so silent as the parting psalm
The red brick walls, the wisteria, the weeping willows, waking up to the dawn on both sides of the river
The nostalgic organ, the lost ballads, the Middle Ages began to grow old
The doves of the square, looking up at the sky, thinking, the Gothic spire, sketching out the last lines
The stories flowed across the bridge of sighs at sunset, the poets, the poets, the poets. The Bridge of Sighs at sunset The poet's love still sings an aria
You were lonely at Cambridge in your black gown You sang of love in verses that rhymed with beautiful
A boatload of stars witnessed that classical embrace The watercress still misses your artemisia
You were lonely at Cambridge in your Chinese gown You bade farewell to love in verse that rhymed with despair
Whose sleeve took the clouds away from us.
You were lonely in Cambridge, wearing a black gown, and you sang of love in verse, rhyming with "beautiful."
A boatload of stars witnessed that classical embrace, and the watercress still misses your artemisia.
You were lonely in Cambridge, wearing a Chinese gown, and you said goodbye to love in verse, rhyming with "despair."
Whose sleeve took away that cloud, and you said goodbye to love, and you said goodbye to love, rhyming with "despair."
Whose sleeve took away that cloud, and you said goodbye to love, and you said goodbye to love, rhyming with "despair. That cloud's arrival, the silence of the parting song is like a kind of mourning.
