Should we retire in the countryside or in the city?

Whether to retire in the countryside or in the city should be considered in the light of the individual's specific conditions and the meaning of the pursuit of "old age". The old age is not a matter of "waiting for death", but a matter of pursuing one's own life. It's just that everyone's pursuit of life is different. Some people seek better living conditions, while others seek more peace of mind and a more comfortable life. For example, according to the conditions described by the subject, the family has a house and a vegetable field and arable land, as long as the health, go home and live in the countryside "outside the world", for those who like to live a quiet life, that's the dream of the retirement home. However, each family situation and each person's temperament is not the same, as for the elderly like to retire in the countryside or the city, to be different from person to person.

Taking my parents' situation as an example, my father likes the rural life, self-sufficient, feeling full of happiness and sense of belonging; while my mother, used to follow the children's life, doesn't really like the rural life. This can be sensed from my parents' attitude towards life when they helped my brother take care of small children. While my mother willingly took care of the small children, my father was often physically ill while living in the city, and he felt very lonely and depressed living in the city. In fact, my father felt that his home in the city was not his home, living in an unfamiliar environment, everything was very unnatural, there were no familiar neighbors, there were no familiar trees and birds, not to mention the chickens, ducks and geese, there were just unfamiliar crowds of people and reinforced concrete lattice buildings; whereas, my mother could treat the children's home as her own home, perhaps my mother knew how to compromise with life better. In this case, the mother was in the city to look after the children, and the father preferred to go home and farm the land himself, rather than live in the city. For this reason, insist that the father, he alone in the old home to plant a few points of vegetable land, more than an acre of grain, feed some chickens and ducks, nothing and the old fellows to promote heart to heart, watching over the old home of his land, watching over the return of the children.

Each family situation in rural areas is different, people aspire to the old age lifestyle, vary from person to person. Rural elderly pension life, usually there are two kinds of situation, with the children in the city life, or as a left-behind elderly. Some of the left-behind elderly, is used to also like the rural idyllic life, sunrise and sunset, a lifetime of habit. This kind of idyllic life, for those who like it, there is a sense of closeness, a sense of belonging; for those who don't like the idyllic old age, perhaps it is a compromise of life, or perhaps it is really not like the rural old age. This human nature true to the pursuit of lifestyle, I personally think it is the pursuit of a higher level of life.

So, people who have the conditions to go back to the countryside to retire, like the idyllic and comfortable retirement life, go back to watch over the piece of land that feeds them; old people who like the city life, have the conditions to retire in the city is good, there is not so much entanglement. Parents in order to children's happiness, hard work for a lifetime, to the old age when the old age, for their own comfortable life should be considered, the children should be given to cooperate with the care on the good.
