The Oriental Pearl Radio and Television Tower is one of Shanghai's landmark cultural landscapes, located in Lujiazui, Pudong New Area, with a height of about 468 meters. The building was completed in July of 199 1 and put into use in May of 1995. It undertakes 6 sets of wireless TV transmission services in Shanghai, covering 80 kilometers.

The Oriental Pearl Radio and Television Tower is a multi-tube structure, with three giant hollow columns with a diameter of 9 meters and a height of 287 meters, which are connected by beams with a height of 6 meters. At a height of 93 meters, it is supported by three inclined columns with a diameter of 7 meters, and the inclined columns are at an angle of 60 degrees with the ground.

The building has 425 buried foundation piles at 12m, and three steel structure balls with thousands of tons are suspended at 1 12m, 295m and 350m respectively. Three diagonal braces with a height close to 100 m are added to the reinforced concrete building.

The TV tower has three spheres: the bottom, the top and the top. The top ball is called the Space Hall, with a center elevation of 342m and a sphere diameter of16m. * * * There are four floors, namely elevator room, conference hall, sightseeing floor and pipeline floor.
