Jia Ling's "Hello Li Huanying" has brought fire to the scenic spot of Xiangyang, so if you want to go to Xiangyang to play cards in the near future, you can choose the following places, which are one of the more famous scenic spots in the area, and are very suitable for you to visit and tour.
Historically, Xiangyang was a favored place. The heroes of the Three Kingdoms fought for this place, the poets of the Tang Dynasty left behind the scenic poems of "the color of the mountains" and the humanistic poems of "the exchange of ancient and modern", and the martial arts novelists of modern times wrote the stories of Guo Jing, Huang Rong, Yang Zhuo, and Guo Xiang for this place. Xiangyang is now the "top spot" in Hubei province, and locals are proud of the historical sites that attract "day-trip" travelers.
Fancheng, on the north bank of the Han River, is home to Xiangyang's train station and bus terminal, as well as the city's busiest commercial district. On the south bank, the less "ancient" Xiangyang Ancient City is a bit disappointing at first glance, and the Qing Dynasty buildings in Gulongzhong are too far removed from the story of the Three Kingdoms. But the ancient city wall is still there, the framework of the historic city, backbone and vitality is still there.
Introduction of scenic spotsXiangyang Ancient City
Compared with the Ming and Qing Dynasty walls, which are all 8.5 meters high and more than 7 kilometers long, Xiangyang Ancient City is even more astonishing with its domineering moat system. East, south and west are man-made dug into the river, the widest place is 250 meters; north is the water of the Han River - solid as a golden soup of land and water defense system, won the "iron Xiangyang City" "the first city in China! "and other beautiful name.
Small North Gate towards the south of the door plaque written "North Gate Lock and Key", the north side of the book "Lin Hanmen", near the small North Gate Square in the evening is very lively, suitable for sitting and watching street dance, martial arts, square dance, you can also go down to the riverside to play a game of billiards. Lady City (admission 5 yuan; 8:00~17:30) can be accessed from the landing next to Xiaobeimen, the only Xiangyang city wall developed into a scenic spot, with extraordinarily charming views along the Han River. A statue of a warrior woman stands in the westernmost pavilion - she's not Huang Rong, but Lady Han, who did exist in history. She was the mother of Zhu Xu, a lieutenant general of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and led the women who built this wall to ward off raids by the former Qin army. Boats are available for rent at the north end of the east and west moats, where you can row and admire the ancient city walls.
An Alternative Route to the Ancient City Walls for Free
Da Beimen: Nearby is the site of the ancient rule of Jingzhou, with its antique streets. The urn here is well preserved and can be climbed to the top. What's even more rare is the close proximity to the Han River (unlike the Little North Gate, which is separated by a highway), and the old stone-paved wharf just outside the door.
East Gate: From here you go up to the city wall, where weeping willows, cherry blossoms and sequoias line the wall, and the moat and ancient pagoda are in sight. Walking south to the southeast corner of the city wall, there is a restored Zhongxuan Tower in honor of Wang Chuan, one of the "Seven Sons of Jian'an", who wrote "The Fugue of Ascending the Tower" here.
West Gate: The section from here to the northeast corner of the city wall is the best place to see Da Nang Mountain from a distance. You can walk from the small north gate to the west, to the northwest corner of the wall, and then walk all the way to the south. The view of the lake and mountains is beautiful, and there are not many pedestrians, so it's the best place to calm down and relax.
Old Dragon Embankment: This 5-kilometer-long stone embankment on the south bank of the Han River dates back to the North and South Dynasties. After leaving Dabeimen and heading east along the Old Dragon Embankment, past the Han River Hydrological Inspection Station, you'll see a stone pillar from the Qing Dynasty, inscribed with the story "Widow's Donation," which is why this section is also known as the Widow's Embankment. Continuing eastward, after crossing a bridge, there is the locked Long Gate, which is the northeast corner of the Xiangyang city wall.
