Analysis on the Character of Jin Yong's Martial Arts Characters

The protagonists of Mr. Jin Yong's more than a dozen novels are mostly heroic men with indomitable spirit and chivalrous and fearless Jianghu knights. As a spiritual life, man is doomed to be impossible to be perfect. No matter how indomitable he is, there must be something wrong with ordinary people, and there must be some ideas of ordinary people in his ideological composition. Man is a group animal. To survive in society, you will meet many people from childhood, and you may be influenced by human activities more or less, and develop some habits different from perfection, some of which are innate. So these Jianghu knights are no exception. They will have many shortcomings. This article will talk about their shortcomings.

According to the order of couplets, Pei Hu is quite different in Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain and The Legend of Flying Fox. Fly is mainly about his life experience when he was young, and Snow is about the story that happened when he was young. Youth is more elegant, independent and mature than youth. In The Legend of the Flying Fox, Pei Hu was full of energy, brave and fearless, and met many things on the road to becoming a hero. He met the first two women in his life, Yuan Ziyi and Cheng Lingsu. Especially in the process of getting along with smart and alert Cheng Lingsu, Pei Hu's wit was greatly contrasted. In fact, Pei Hu is a chivalrous hero in Fly, and his shortcomings are not obvious. Therefore, Pei Hu's character has no shortcomings. The only shortcoming is his vague treatment of love. His love for Yuan Ziyi is puzzling, but he knows nothing about Cheng Lingsu. Obviously, Pei Hu fell in love with Yuan Ziyi and had feelings for Cheng Lingsu. The two women treated Hu Fei with a one-word strategy. How did they do it? Yuan Ziyi is "hiding". Every time I meet Pei Hu, he comes and goes in a hurry. He didn't want to give Pei Hu hope, so he took the way of "hiding", which made Pei Hu feel empty. Cheng Lingsu used the word "burial". Cheng Lingsu saw that Pei Hu was infatuated with Yuan Ziyi, while Pei Hu and he were just brothers and sisters. He can only bury his love for Pei Hu in his heart. These three people work hard for each other emotionally. Yuan Ziyi wanted to become a monk for liberation, while Cheng Lingsu died for Pei Hu. Pei Hu is full of affection for these two women. He really loves her, and even after Yuan's haircut, he whimsically hopes that she can be secularized. For Cheng Lingsu, Pei Hu is more grateful. He didn't show his love for Cheng Lingsu from beginning to end. Finally, he buried Cheng Lingsu's ashes next to his parents' graves. He regarded Cheng Lingsu as a family, and his feelings were more like sisters, even though Cheng Lingsu died for himself. You should know that love can't be forced. People tend to show more sympathy for Cheng Lingsu, including me, and great sympathy for Cheng Lingsu, especially the episode in which she took drugs for Pei Hu. I really hope they can be together, but maybe Pei Hu and I made the same mistake, that is, idealizing the guilty heart. When Yuan Ziyi can't be with Pei Hu, it's fate. Cheng Lingsu can't be with Pei Hu. It's a plot arrangement. In the end, Pei Hu can only stay alone in the snow forest next to his parents' grave. There is also a saying that he doesn't like ugliness and loves beauty. Yuan is very beautiful, but Cheng is very ordinary. He loves beauty, whether it is a hero or a peddler. Besides, with Yuan Ziyi's first appearance and preconceived impression, I'm afraid it's hard for Pei Hu to resist. It's a bit reluctant to regard Pei Hu's ambiguity about their feelings as a shortcoming, but it can't hurt the plot of the work.

Di Yun's greatest strength is his greatest weakness. He is sincere and honest by nature and kind-hearted. This is good at ordinary times, which is the characteristic of good character. However, in the ugly world of Liancheng, Di Yun's advantages immediately turned into shortcomings, and he was used and ridiculed. He is too kind and a little inexperienced. The master sold the new clothes that the ox should have bought by himself, and it got dirty, so he struggled desperately with the thief Lu Tong. His hands created conditions for himself to be defeated by Wan's other disciples. Lutong came to challenge Wan Zhenshan, but Di Yun tried his best to drive him away. Naturally, his master was expressionless and Wan's other disciples were narrow-minded, but he couldn't bear the recklessness and hit him in the middle of the night. His three strokes of "Tang poetry sword" defeated other disciples, which led Wan Zhenshan to kill Qi. He was also framed by Wan Gui, put in prison tragically, his right finger was cut off, his pipa was locked, his martial arts was lost, and he was misunderstood by my sister. All this is unfair. Di Yun doesn't understand what happened. He has a nickname "water spinach", which shows how he thinks he has been harmed by others. He is too honest and kind to think of other people's faults. When Ding Dian told him about the past when Wan Zhenshan's other disciples killed the teacher and seized the scriptures, Di Yun seemed to hear the most evil thing in the world, and his mind was hard to understand. With the development of the story, Di Yun is increasingly attacked by the ugliness of human nature: Ding Dian was killed by Ling Zhifu; Evil monks and elephants will eat themselves; Shui Sheng longitudinal horse will break his leg bone; The blood knife bodhi old zu is cruel, ferocious and scheming; In order to survive, Chinese die-hards ignore the morality of the rivers and lakes and slander them; The second teacher who taught himself kung fu was cruel to his brother; Shiwan brothers and sisters are suspicious of each other and want to get rid of each other quickly; Heroes from all walks of life are crazy about treasures, and their conscience is gone. This series of processes destroyed the new soul, who grew up in the rural areas of western Hunan. He couldn't believe that human nature would become so ugly when his best interests were violated. However, he witnessed the fact with his own eyes. In the end, I can only live in seclusion in the snowy mountains and purify my mind. His shortcoming is that he is too honest and kind, and as a result, he is bullied everywhere, but his good character has become his fatal weakness, which is really the biggest mockery of human nature, but it is very realistic.

Feng Xiao and Guo Jing can be called "chivalrous men", and they have the least shortcomings among these protagonists, almost none. However, people are multifaceted and cannot be without flaws. Xiao Feng's shortcoming is that he is sometimes too impulsive. He said he couldn't stand being wronged. After the sale, his parents didn't blame him too much because there was more than four taels of silver missing from the drugstore, but Feng Xiaoyou was so miserable that he didn't want to bear the injustice that he killed the drugstore doctor in the middle of the night to calm his heart. He was framed by Mrs. Ma. How can he believe her? He was blinded by hatred. He was besieged by heroes all over the world and was eager to get revenge from the "big villain". He believed Mrs. Ma's words and rushed to Dali to kill Duan. What he didn't expect was that Duan frankly admitted that he died peacefully. What he didn't expect was that Duan told him two completely unrelated things, and what he died peacefully was the love in his heart. In fact, if Xiao Feng is not eager for revenge, think about it. Since the "villain" kills witnesses who know the truth faster than him every time, he will naturally try his best to hide himself. How could he let Xiao Feng find it easily and then refuse to let it go? Therefore, Xiao Feng's impulse often prevents him from solving anything. He didn't have a better solution, so he chose the most primitive method in human nature-violence. Impulse often leads to less thinking, which in turn leads to his mental crisis, which may also be a manifestation of his tragic fate. Guo Jing is a little paranoid. In the legend of the condor hero, it is because of his dull nature. He was raised and taught by the seven eccentrics in the south of the Yangtze River since childhood, and he has deep feelings. He witnessed the tragic death of the five masters on Peach Blossom Island, and his very poor reasoning made him resentful, lost all tenderness for Huang Rong and wanted to take Huang's life. Guo Jing is not clever at all. When he encountered such a tragic disaster, his brain was already confused. How could he think about cause and effect? As Huang Rong said: If it was really Huang's hand, how could Ke Zhene have the life to inform him? However, at this moment, in order to set off her cleverness and wit and the ups and downs of Guo Huang's feelings, it is necessary for Huang Rong to stand up and look for the murderer; In The Condor Heroes, Guo Jing's paranoia is more determined by his orthodox thoughts. He loved Yang Guo in every way, but some human factors made Yang Guo misunderstand him. At the hero's meeting, Guo Jing's concern for Yang Guo showed his true feelings. Even with his life, he won't hesitate too much. However, when Yang Guo proposed to marry a lady, it caused a great defense of moral codes. Guo Jing, Guo Daxia admired by everyone in the Jianghu, is the representative of orthodox ethics. He would rather have it. In the case of Yang Guo's broken arm, Guo Jing's paranoia is obvious. Guo Fu accidentally cut off Yang Guo's arm, which was an unintentional loss. Guo Jing lived a heroic life and never failed others. He must cut off Guo Fu's arm to repay Yang Guo. Guo Jing's orthodoxy is deeply rooted, and he consciously returns everything, plus the friendship between Yang Guo and his two families for three generations. So his idea is that this man is really a gentleman and impartial, and his daughter is also involved. It is also Guo Jing who is honest by nature and refuses to be negative. I can't blame him for this. I just know this scene. Why didn't I give Guo Fu a strict education? Compared with Guo Xiang's strict education, he grew into a grandmaster, and Mrs. Guo Huang was still able to educate her children.

Similarly, I won't talk too much about Wei Xiaobao here. He is a special case and needs a special topic to study him. He has too many shortcomings. It's hard to say how successful the role is, and it's hard to say whether he is good or bad.

Ling Huchong is a man of temperament. He has deep affection for Yue Lingshan's childhood friends and respects Yue Buqun. With Yue Lingshan's empathy and the constant exposure of Yue Buqun's true colors, Ling Huchong seems to have devoted his feelings to him, and he can't get rid of it. He almost died at the hands of the father and daughter. After a poor investigation, Ling Huchong's excessive emotionalization became one of his major shortcomings. He and Yue Lingshan grew up as childhood friends, and it is understandable that everyone devoted a lot of feelings to them. And at that time, Yue Lingshan was sincere to this master elder brother. Just when they were very happy, Lin Pingzhi's intrusion changed their relationship subtly, but this is what I said. Both Ling Huchong and Lin Pingzhi are young people, and they may win the hearts of beautiful people by showing their charm, but because "hypocrite" Ling Huchong thought of Yue Lingshan's love and Yue Buqun's upbringing, he devoted himself to it. If Yue Lingshan's sword at the meeting of the Five Mountains Sword School was unexpected and unintentional, then Yue Buqun disturbed Ling Huchong's mind, cut his leg with "spirit-worshipping fencing" in Shaolin Temple, and the climate also used Ling Huchong to worship Huashan Gate again with psychological tactics, but two or three sentences were coaxed into Ling Huchong's promise and assignment, which does not mean that his mind was not deep. But I don't trust Yue family, and I always respect and even worship Yue family. In the two contests between Shaolin Temple and Wuyue Mountain, he was full of affection and love for Yue Lingshan in front of Yingying. Regardless of whether he deserves Yingying's love and sacrifice, how can he be distracted if he wants to concentrate? I got two chances. The first time I was disturbed by Yue Buqun, I took the opportunity to frame him for being cruel to his master. The last time she was stabbed by Yue Lingshan, Yingying was worried. Did Ling Huchong feel guilty? Later, on Huashan Mountain, Yue Buqun was poisoned, and Ling Huchong and Yingying almost died. If it weren't for Lin stabbed the hypocrite in time, I'm afraid even if Ling Huchong sucked up Yue Buqun's internal force with the star-sucking solution, he would hardly die. It can be seen that although Ling Huchong's temperament is free and easy, it is impossible for a single page to be transparent, and it is difficult to stop those who have the intention to plot against him. Moreover, because he is too emotional, he even risks causing great disaster. If you have deep feelings, you will worry a lot and be indecisive. From this perspective, Ling Huchong's mood of playing the legendary swordsman harmoniously may be the clearest.

Chen Jialuo is a typical representative of traditional intellectuals in China. He does things only by wishful thinking, has little experience in political struggle, has shallow thoughts, is indecisive when encountering major events, has many worries, and lacks political game psychology, so it is difficult to achieve major events. In the political and psychological struggle with Emperor Qianlong, it can be said that all of them fell behind, and finally returned to Xinjiang to spend the rest of their lives, unable to make waves and accomplish nothing. But if you think about it, you can't blame him for not completing the great cause. If a group of unruly Jianghu people want to do great things in the world, their leaders must be wise, decisive, resolute, affordable and free and easy, and their political goals must stand scrutiny and be worth fighting for. But these two things seem to be put into practice without thinking clearly. Yu Wanting, the old helmsman of the Red Cross, holds the evidence of the life experience of Qianlong, hoping to intimidate Qianlong into submission and restore the Han Dynasty. Chen Jialuo inherited this legacy and led the Red Cross to continue its struggle. To tell the truth, Chen Jialuo is a man who gives orders, strategizes and is resourceful. However, he is very willing to maintain his achievements, but he lacks development. Therefore, it is impossible for an intellectual like him to change dynasties. What about political goals? It was to overthrow the aristocratic rule of the Manchu Dynasty and restore the Han family to the world, but from the beginning, everyone including Yu Wanting made a mistake: Gan Long was not a fake emperor, nor was he a Han Chinese (at least that's what the novel said). Honghua asked him to restore his identity as a Han Chinese to replace the rule of the Manchu Dynasty and continue to be the emperor himself, and he was the founding emperor. When Qianlong first heard this request in Pagoda of Six Harmonies, he was overjoyed. However, after cooling down, Gan Long's keen politician insight realized that he was already an emperor. Even if he really restored the Han family, he was still an emperor and still ruled the world. Nothing is more interesting than this. Manchu people ruled the Central Plains for more than one hundred years. It can be said that the state machine of the ruling class is strong enough. If there really is a coup in Ganlong and the Manchu nobles attack together, I'm afraid the Red Flower Festival will be difficult to succeed. Qianlong himself must end up beheaded, and then the Qing court will change another emperor. In this way, when weighing the pros and cons, Qianlong seems to think that it is safer to be a Taiping emperor. It doesn't matter whether he is Han or Manchu. The red flower club is wishful thinking, and Qianlong is really thoughtful. Therefore, from the day Chen Jialuo became the chief helmsman, he was doomed to failure, and his personality and political management ideas could not stand the cruel political test.

Yang Guo has an extreme personality. He was lonely since childhood and suffered from the changes of the world. Raised by Guo Jing, he was bullied by the Wu brothers. Huang Rong's precautions made him even more extreme. The tragic experience of Quanzhen religion made his resentment reach the extreme, becoming more cynical and aloof. Finally, Sun Popo warmed the hard ice in his heart with a warm and loving heart. When Yang Guo was glad that there were people in the world who cared about him, Sun Popo was killed by Hao Datong, and Yang Guo hated Quanzhen Daochang. I'm afraid this is also a major source. He learned that Huang Rong and Guo Jing had killed their father, so that he could get to know King Jinlun, take refuge in Mongolia and act as Kublai Khan's internal friends. He went to Xiangyang City to assassinate Guo Jing, not to mention Yang Kang's misconduct, injustice and self-mutilation. Even if he was really killed by Mr. and Mrs. Guo Jing, he should take revenge aboveboard. Yang Guo ignored the fact that the two countries were at war and wanted to take revenge regardless of the country and the nation, which would make him beyond redemption. Fortunately, he was infected by Guo Jing's "chivalrous feelings" in time. At the most critical moment, he saved Guo Jing from the Mongolian camp and protected Guo Xiang all the time. Although Yang Guo is extreme, he is not confused. In the face of Guo Jing's unyielding sense of justice, he can come to their senses and live up to the meaning of Guo Jing's name to him!

Shi skyshatter and Di Yun are almost all too kind and defenseless to be calculated, but the difference is that Di Yun chose to hide the world, while Shi skyshatter faced it calmly and made others respect him more through his own behavior. To tell the truth, the biggest shortcoming of Shi Tianshi should be that he is illiterate. He said that Wei Xiaobao has no culture. How can he say that he knows his name and how many words he knows? But Shi skyshatter doesn't even know his own name or the word "one", so he really can't read. However, illiteracy has brought him benefits, making him a "knight island demon" invincible in the world, which is also considered to be a silver lining behind the dark clouds. But that's not what I want to talk about. I still want to talk about his good character. At this point, he is different from Di Yun. Di Yun grew up in an uncontested rural area and developed his simple and kind character. Shi is not. He grew up with a woman who called him "son of a bitch". He thought it was his mother. He also lives in a place with little contact with the outside world. Her "mother" Instead of blaming him, he felt that maybe his mother was like this. Later, in "Later Jian Ji", he witnessed the cruel war in which Jianghu people seized the order of Tie Xuan, witnessed the narrow road meeting between Shi Qing and Xue Shan School, and witnessed Xie Yanke's play with others. These are all unprecedented before, and he feels very novel. He has been guarded on the skyscraper cliff, teaching him the internal skill of mixing yin and yang to prevent him from murdering himself, but these didn't make Shi skyshatter angry, and he was grateful. He always turns luck into luck, so he always treats others with his kindness, thinking that people all over the world will treat him like this. After that, although he was regarded as Shi Zhongyu by various characters consciously or unconsciously and was in various contradictory events, he was always in a state of mind and gained a lot, but it was a novel after all. If he treated people like this in reality, there would be no such good opportunity. It's really hard for him to survive. So there is still a harmless heart and a defensive heart.

Zhang Wuji said that he is close to us ordinary people, although he has our problems and shortcomings. He has many shortcomings. Lack of determination and indecision is a cliche. I don't need to waste my breath here. I mainly want to talk about his servility or inferiority complex. When I was a teenager, I spent some time in Hongmei Villa near Kunlun Mountain. In the villa, he met the charming Zhu Jiuzhen. He was so fascinated that he was at a loss. Wei Bi, Zhu Jiuzhen and Wu Qingying had an affair and participated in the escort. Zhang Wuji at this time is chaotic and lonely, like a flower. After being fascinated by Zhu Jiuzhen's charming beauty, he got carried away and got involved in the jealousy of those three people. However, Zhu Jiuzhen treated him as a plaything and let his cousin tease him and make fun of him. Zhang Wuji was in a coma and happily beaten by Wei Bi, thinking that he would be killed as long as he could win Zhu Jiuzhen's happiness. Zhu Jiuzhen saw Zhang Wuji strike back, hated it, and showed no pity. He wants Wei Bi to kill him. As long as his cousin is happy, what does this "farmer" have to do with his death? But Zhang Wuji didn't know whether it was a seed of love or a natural attachment to beautiful women. After being beaten, he was still wondering whether Zhu Jiu would really miss himself. After being puzzled by Zhu Jiuzhen for many days, coupled with Zhu Changling's acting affectation, Zhang Wuji easily revealed his identity and the whereabouts of his adoptive father. As a young man, it is understandable that he can't help being tempted. However, it is really hard to understand that he dragged his life out for the smile of Pomeranian. This may be that Zhang Wuji has been controlled by women all his life, and he dare not explain himself.

It is difficult for most people to understand the love between Yuan Chengzhi and Qingqing. For such an unruly, narrow-minded and jealous girl, Yuan Chengzhi should be obedient to him. Jiao Wa 'er, A Jiu and even Xiaohui are like poisonous snakes and beasts in Qingqing's heart, fearing that they will make a mistake and Yuan Chengzhi will be taken away by them. The most ridiculous thing was that she thought Yuan Chengzhi was interested in He Tieshou, but she didn't know that the latter had a soft spot for herself disguised as a man. Yuan Chengzhi followed his father Yuan Chonghuan's example in everything and was born with extremely strict moral standards. He is a good man who denies himself and does his duty. He promised Qingqing that he would be together for life, but Qingqing's jealousy was too strong. If a woman with a little beauty favors Yuan Chengzhi, Qingqing will try her best to die. Yuan Chengzhi morally promised to spend his life with Qingqing, but he always had respect for A Jiu. However, because of being green, he dared not express himself, hesitated and was in a dilemma. A Jiu is also suffering. Later, Yuan Chengzhi went overseas, thinking that he could avoid this feeling of persistence and confusion. He treats Qingqing sincerely and loves A Jiu. In the swing, the morning and evening are fleeting, I have passed, and I can't help but sigh!

The later period of Mr. Jin Yong's works is better than the earlier period, and the characters are more and more human. The joys and sorrows of ordinary people will also be shown in heroes. As living individuals with flesh and blood, they have more or less shortcomings, which constitutes their complete humanity. Otherwise, they will persevere and have no human weakness, which will make them dull. After all, there are few great heroes, and readers will see them.
