The original singer of "Soldier's True Color" is Yan Weiwen. It was written in 1996, with lyrics by Shi Shunyi and music by Sang Nan.
In the 1990s, Shi Shunyi wrote the song "The Soldier's True Colors" because he felt that the soldiers were silent and dedicated in peacetime, and that they stepped forward to take on important responsibilities in times of danger. Sang Nan saw the lyrics, after thinking and precipitation, created this national style distinctive, delicate and tender melody of the song.
"The Soldier's True Colors" expresses the revolutionary heroism of the people's army when the motherland and the people are in danger, and expresses the firm stance of the people's sons and daughters to love the motherland and the people, and to defend the motherland and the people.
"The Soldier's True Colors" was chosen as the theme song of the large-scale documentary film "Battle of Three Rivers", and "The Soldier's True Colors" was spontaneously sung by the general army and soldiers and by the whole nation.
