Honghuagang District is located between Chongqing, a municipality directly under the Central Government, and Guiyang, the provincial capital, in the golden section of the southwest sea passage from Chongqing to Guiyang. It is an important node city connecting the central Guizhou Economic Zone, the northern Guizhou Economic Zone and the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone. The distance from Guiyang, the provincial capital, to Chongqing, the municipality directly under the central government, is about 129km, and it is 25 1km to the north.
The geological foundation of Honghuagang area is complex and the landform types are diverse. There are rolling hills, long and narrow valleys, intermountain basins surrounded by mountains, and valley terraces that are not deeply cut. The terrain is high in the northwest, low in the southeast, and slightly stepped down, during which the Xiangjiang River and its tributary Luojiang River are poured. The highest elevation is 1400 m, the lowest elevation is 790 m, and the average elevation is about 1000 m. The T-junction in the center of the area is 820 meters above sea level.
