Movie.com.cn (Compiled by Ben) According to Korean media reports, veteran actress Kim Soo-mi will take a break from the comedy screen to star in a drama film. on September 15, a film production company told the media that Kim Soo-mi will star in the role of the female lead in the movie "Lighthouse Keeper".

"Lighthouse Keeper" is based on the novel of the same name by Korean author Cho Chang-in, which was the No. 1 recommended title for 42 consecutive weeks at Korea's largest book seller. The director of the movie, Oh Sang-hoon, has previously directed movies such as "Deadly Bounty" and "Ramen Life". Kim Soo-mi plays the role of Jae-woo's mother, who lives with her family by guarding the lighthouse. Although she is at risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, she still shows the warmest love to her son.

The producer of the movie also revealed that the movie is about an old man suffering from Alzheimer's disease and his ungrateful son, and although there are a lot of comedic moments, viewers can feel the power of a mother's love, and the role of the movie requires a high level of range for the actor, so the producer believes that Kim Soo-mi is capable of interpreting the role well. Called a warm comedy, 'Lighthouse Keeper' is about a mother suffering from Alzheimer's who lives and eats with her young son, who is a lighthouse keeper, after being abandoned by her oldest son. Amidst the sadness of the backstory, the movie's sequences include both heartwarming laughs and tear-jerking episodes. It is known that 'Lighthouse Keeper' has already received support from Uljin-gun in Gyeongsangbuk-do and will be filmed there early next year. The film is currently in the process of casting supporting actors, and according to the plan, the film will be released in the second half of next year.
