History of Jumping Music

Qing Dynasty, Kunming City, Jinning, Kunyang two counties of the ethnic folk dance is very rich, only six streets in Jinning and Kunyang, Shuanghe, Xiyang Yi settlement of villages of Yi square dance "jumping music", also known as "Laos (zhuā) music," there are more than 30 sets. There are more than 20 sets of Yanglao drums (also called flower drums), which are popular in the dam area. There are also weapon dances, mask dances, small solo dragon dances, bench dragon dances, donkey lamp dances, lion dances, mussel crane dances, dragon lamp dances, fan flower dances, lantern songs and dances, and so on. In nature, it can be divided into self-entertainment, performance, and rituals of three kinds.
