Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang: Putuo Mountain in Dinghai, Zhejiang,
Due to the influence of Hua Yan Jing, the real name of Mei Cen was changed to "Putuo Mountain". In ancient times, China's contacts with Japan, Korea, Silla and other countries were mostly for this island as a stop, waiting for the wind to set sail. In the 12th year of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (858), Hua Hui, a Japanese monk who came to China to seek dharma, invited a Guanyin statue in Wutai Mountain and wanted to bring it back to Japan for worship.
Hua Hui went to sea from Siming (Ningbo, Zhejiang). The ship was blocked by strong winds and waves when passing through Zhoushan Islands. It is said that there were many iron lotus flowers sticking out of the sea at that time, and the ship could not sail forward, so it was forced to leave the icon on the island for building a house for sacrifice. ? [27-28] Avalokitesvara is predestined friends with this island, and more and more people worship it. Eventually it was renamed Putuo Mountain and became one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China.
