In October 1946, in Bohai Bay, a merchant ship bound for Dalian was crowded with people, and the waves rolled under the ship.
"Someone has jumped into the sea."
"The young couple jumped overboard with their baby."
To everyone's horror, a young couple holding a two-year-old child leapt from the deck into the rough sea to kill themselves.
The KMT reactionaries heard the news and rushed over,
The family of three had already disappeared into the vast ocean,
Along with them disappeared the secrets of our party.
They used their lives to keep the secrets of our party.
The couple who jumped into the sea, the husband is called Zhong Qi, 25 years old; his wife is called Dong Jianmin, 23 years old, the child in their arms Zhong Mingming just turned two years old. ......
I would rather sacrifice the family, but also determined not to disclose the secrets of the party, two people are incredibly strong faith.
Let's go through their story together.
In 1923, Dong Jianmin was born in Jinghai County, Hebei Province (now Tianjin). Her father, Dong Shaotang, graduated from Nankai High School, and was considered a man of culture at the time, while her uncle, Dong Qiusi, graduated from Yanjing University and was a progressive thinker.
In 1925, after the outbreak of the May 30th Movement, Dong was the head of the Yanjing University student movement, and then introduced by Pan Hannian, Dong also joined the Chinese ****anese Communist Party.
Dong Qiu Si had no time to take care of his family while he was away for the revolution, and his daughter, Dong Zhong Min, grew up in the home of Dong Shaotang.
Dong Qiushi often sent some progressive books and magazines to the children in his hometown, so that they could accept the revolutionary ideas.
In such an environment, Dong Jianmin also became an aspiring young man with the ambition to serve the country and the people.
Dong Shaotang felt that his younger brother, Dong Qiushi, was a man of culture, and that it would be better for the children to be brought up by him, and that they would have a better future, so he still decided to send some of his children to his brother to be educated by him.
In 1939, Dong Jianmin, his sister Dong Qingmin, and his cousin Dong Zhongmin all came to Dong Qiusi's side.
Seeing several children, Dong Qiusi's first words were : "Follow me, you have to suffer ah, you are afraid of it?"
At the time of the Japanese invasion, the country are living in dire straits, Dong Jianmin heart has long had the idea of fighting ghosts. At the age of 16, she said to her uncle : "I want to join the ****animal party and go to the front to fight the ghosts".
Dong Qingmin and Dong Zhongmin, who were on the sidelines, also said they wanted to fight the devils.
Dong Qiusi was very happy to hear the words of these children, and thought that he must take these children to join the anti-Japanese rescue team.
In May 1939, with the approval of the organization, Dong Jianmin, Dong Qingmin, and Dong Zhongmin went to Xi'an with a convoy of "Overseas Chinese Drivers Returning to China Service Corps", and planned to go to Yan'an after three months of training in Anwu Fortress in Jingyang County.
Unfortunately, Dong Qingmin died on the way, and only Dong Jianmin and Dong Zhongmin attended the training program.
In November 1939, Dong Jianmin and Dong Zhongmin came to Yan'an together after completing their studies at the Youth Training Center.
The sisters studied together in the Shaanbei Public School, learning cultural knowledge, but also military training, to accept the organization's assessment. The two study seriously, often in the middle of the night, but also in the oil lamp to stay up all night to write learning experience.
In 1940, the two passed the examination, joined the **** production party, officially embarked on the path of revolution.
The identity and work of the party members were kept secret, and the two sisters, who had different jobs, had a hard time seeing each other after that.
In 1941, at the age of 18, Dong Jianmin worked in the General Office of the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Central Committee of the People's Republic of China, where he was responsible for translating telegrams.
Although Dong Jianmin was young, he had a delicate mind, and during his work, he intercepted several pieces of enemy intelligence, which enabled our army to avoid losses and turn danger into safety.
During his work, Dong Jianmin met Zhong Qi, a revolutionary fighter from Xian County, Hebei Province.
Zhong Qi is two years older than Dong Jianmin, and is also a progressive, brave and resolute revolutionary fighter.
The two men worked together, shared the same ideals of saving the country and the people, and always had a lot to say. They got closer and closer, and gradually, their friendship sublimated into love, and they became a revolutionary couple.
In 1942, Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi were married in a humble kiln in Zaoyuan, Yan'an, by Li Kenong, who was the deputy minister of the social department of the central government of the People's Republic of China.
When many people get married, they say some kind of vows that they will never leave each other. But the vows of Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi were to do their jobs well and never leak secrets: For the liberation of millions of people, for the realization of the ideals of ****analism, I would rather sacrifice my life than disclose the secrets of the Party, and swear to live and die with the code **** !
A few years later, they practiced their oath with their own lives.
Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi respected and loved each other after marriage, and worked more actively, and always completed the task very well.
In 1944, their son was born, named Zhong Mingming, which means the sky is about to brighten and they are about to win.
A year later, our country won the war.
On August 15, 1945, the Japanese emperor issued an edict announcing that he would accept the Potsdam Declaration of Unconditional Surrender, and the War of Resistance was over. The end of the war was a victory won by the countless volunteers of our country who threw their heads and spilled their blood.
But the war didn't end there. The Kuomintang started a civil war and launched a frantic attack on the liberated areas. We were forced to respond to the war, and Mr. and Mrs. Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi were still on the front line of the revolution, fighting for the liberation of the whole country.
In October 1946, Mr. and Mrs. Dong received a new mission to set up a radio station in Dalian.
Li Kénong personally called Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi to his office and told them the importance of perfecting intelligence work in the Northeast.
The two are highly skilled in their field, and as a married couple, it is convenient for them to disguise themselves as ordinary people, so that they will not be easily exposed along the way.
They were entrusted with such an important mission out of high trust, and they gladly accepted the mission, promising to fulfill it.
They said goodbye to Yan'an, and took their two-year-old child, Zhong Mingming, with them, and set off again for the revolution.
This time the mission was very important, in order to ensure the successful completion of the mission, the organization sent a squad of soldiers in disguise to escort them all the way to Qingdao before leaving.
After arriving in Qingdao, Dong Jianmin and his family bought a boat ticket and planned to go to Dalian by sea to set up a radio station.
The Nationalist army is guarding the docks, so how do they get past them? After thinking about it for a while, Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi had an idea, they wrapped the code in oil cloth and hid it in their children's diapers, and put a piece of silver dollar in it, so that if they encountered any unexpected situation, they could sink into the sea, so that the enemy wouldn't be searched for them.
Dong Jianmin's family of three passed through the checkpoints and successfully boarded the ship, and also met the transportation officer who came to meet them.
They are happy that their mission is almost complete,
But their whereabouts have been discovered by the enemy.
Because of the traitor's betrayal, it wasn't long after the ship left the harbor that the Qingdao agents learned that Dong and Zhong Qi were going to Dalian to set up a radio station, and they immediately asked Huludao to send a warship to intercept them.
Seeing that Dalian is getting closer and closer, Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi are still very happy, thinking that their mission will be accomplished soon.
But when the ship was in Bohai Bay, it suddenly slowed down, followed by the noise of many people boarding the ship, and then the sound of gunfire.
"Men all to the deck, to be examined."
There were a lot of agents coming, and Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi instantly realized that these agents were coming for the two of them.
The child cried out again, and Dong Jianmin touched the child, and there was blood all over his body, and the child had been shot.
Dong Jianmin tightly embraced the child, as a mother, at this time her heart like a knife. But she knows she has more important things to do, that is, to protect the secret code, can not let the enemy searched, this is our party's secrets.
The traffic officer also came over, Dong Jianmin quietly instructed him from the stern of the boat into the water, so that he must go back alive, but also asked him to tell the organization, although the mission was not completed, but the secret code will never fall into the hands of the enemy.
Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi both understand that their family of three is a big target, and it is very difficult to escape safely today.
The enemy is getting closer, and they look at each other.
Dong Jianmin nodded to her husband, two people who had worked together for so many years, and could understand each other with a glance.
Zhong Qi understood his wife's meaning, he came over and hugged Dong Jianmin and the child, and the couple took the child and jumped into the rolling sea.
The family disappeared into the sea with the secret code in everyone's voice. They protected the secret code, but also paid the precious life of the whole family.
This year, Dong Jianmin was 23 years old, Zhong Qi was 25 years old, and the child in their arms, Zhong Mingming, had just turned two years old. ......
The traffic officer who went down from the back of the boat was holding a piece of wood that floated in the sea for a long time, and then he was saved. He passed on the news of the deaths of Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi's family to the organization.
At that time, when Hu Zongnan was attacking Yan'an, the party organization couldn't get in touch with Zhong Qi's and Dong Jianmin's relatives in time, and martyrdom certificates weren't issued to their families. But before the retreat from Yan'an, a memorial service was held for them.
The three sisters of the Dong family, Dong Jianmin, Dong Qingmin, and Dong Zhongmin, came out to join the revolution together, and Dong Zhongmin is the only one left.
But because it was the war years and the secrecy of the work, Dong Zhongmin didn't know about his sister's sacrifice for years.
Until 1949, after the founding of the new China, Dong Zhongmin only knew that his sister Dong Jianmin's family of three has been the news of the sacrifice, and she sobbed uncontrollably on the day she got the news.
Dong Zhongmin also reported to the organization of his sister Dong Jianmin family of three sacrifices, and asked for them to be recognized as martyrs.
In 1981, with the certification of Luo Qingchang, the head of the investigation department of the Central Committee of the People's Republic of China, Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi were posthumously recognized as martyrs, and were also included in the Directory of Revolutionary Martyrs:
Dong Zhongmin missed his sister too much.
In 1988, Dong Zhongmin brought his children to the Xibaipo Memorial Hall to visit the "Exhibition of Heroes of the Party's Intelligence and Reconnaissance and Defense Front". Inside the memorial hall there is a huge oil painting of a young couple standing on the bow of a boat with a child in their arms, and the family is about to jump into the sea.
Dong Zhongmin was in tears, she pointed to the painting and said, "This is your sister-in-law's aunt and uncle, they went too young."
Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi were buried at sea to protect our party's secrets, and their bodies are not surviving, we should not forget them.
The remains cannot be found, but there are still effigies. In order to commemorate the two martyrs, in June 2005, the Ministry of State Security placed the statues of the two martyrs in the Cemetery of Revolutionary Martyrs in Babaoshan, Beijing, so that they entered the cemetery in a special way.
Dong Jianmin's birthplace, Liu Xiangzhuang Village, also for them to set up a mound, the head of the village committee said, to use their revolutionary spirit to educate future generations : "Their heroic deeds almost everyone in the village knows. We are proud to educate future generations with their revolutionary spirit."
Now that we have a happy and stable life,
we should not forget these martyrs who spilled their blood,
Tribute to the two martyrs Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi!
