Shuangyashan City, also known as Coal City, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Heilongjiang Province. It is located in the northeast of Heilongjiang Province, between east longitude13054 ′ and north latitude13446 ′, and between north latitude 46 20 ′ and 48 52 ′. Located in the hilly area at the northern foot of Wanda Mountain, there is a vast hinterland of Sanjiang Plain in the north and rolling mountains in the south.
It faces the Russian city of Khabarovsk across the Wusuli River in the east, borders Hulin, Mishan and huanan county in the south, Jiamusi and qitaihe city in the west, and Fujin, Tongjiang, Fuyuan and Huachuan in the north. The urban area is located at the foot of Wanda Mountain and beside Anbang River. The total area of the city is 22,500 square kilometers.
