A confession at 160km/h - "The Four Leaf Game" (「安达充作品漫评二」)

Time has always been cruel to the world, but it has been a net for Andazu's brushstrokes. In the 1980s, and into the twentieth year of this century, he has painted many works, and it seems as if he has been painting one work all the time. His works have been criticized by many for being "the same old thing", and even his style of painting has not changed much. This "Four Leaf Game" is a sports youth masterpiece serialized by Adachi at the turn of the century, and it solemnly tells the world that "despite the 21st century, Adachi's style of youth still has the same flavor and will always have a place in the manga world".

The protagonist, Mitsuki Kudamura, is a continuation of Anda's previous male protagonists - a slightly lazy and careless character with a talent that only female protagonists can see. What is this talent? Needless to say, it's the talent of being a pitcher. Like Minami Asakura in Touch, Wakaba Tsukishima wants Kou to enter Koshien. What's not quite the same, though, is that this time the young girl's wish isn't conveyed to the male lead through her own mouth, as she's already been given a death by the author before she even gets the chance.

It seems that since Touch, Andaz? has made a habit of killing off an important character in his books to serve as an adjunct to the protagonist's growth. Perhaps it's because the world of teenage girls is so simple and pure that if you want to find an opportunity for them to grow significantly and not too inhumanly, "losing someone important" seems to be the only answer. This time is no exception, and Andaz? is up to his old tricks, as a young girl named Tsukishima Wakaba dies in the summer cicadas, leaving her childhood friend Mitsuki and her younger sister Aoba to learn the lesson of "accepting death" at a very young age.

I don't know if it's because Uncle Anda is getting older, but his portrayal of death in "The Four Leaf Game" is not as breathtaking as in "Touch" and "H2," where readers don't see a pitch-black morgue, but just a teenage girl in tears at the night of a summer festival. With Wakaba's death, Mitsuki Kudamura finally stops being a playful brat, just as Tatsuya Uesugi loses Kazuya in order to shed his "stupid brother" exterior. If you think about it, I wonder if Andachon was a bit soft on Kunimi Hiromitsu (laughs).

Wakaba's chapter ends, and the lead role falls to her younger sister Aoba. When the baseball-loving girl was asked what kind of guy she liked, she answered frankly, "Someone who can throw a 160km/h straight ball.

So it's not hard to guess where it's going to go from here: no matter how good Mitsuko is at the moment, sooner or later he's going to be able to throw a 160km/h pitch to prove to Aoba that he's worthy of her affection. From there, the story begins to revolve around Light and Aoba. But Wakaba still has a significant influence on the direction of the story. "Hikari is the pitcher, Akashi is the catcher, and the stage is Koshien with a full house" - this is the dream of a young girl, Tsukishima Wakaba, on the night before her death. It is only natural that Mitsuki Kudamura, who was in love with Wakaba, should be responsible for realizing this dream.

Of course, in addition to being busy realizing Wakaba's dream, Kou, as an adolescent boy, has to learn to deal with those mixed-up thoughts. And naturally, the most important of these preoccupations is the adolescent fluttering, the fluttering for Tsukishima Aoba. And Aoba was also disturbed by the same thoughts, the object of which was naturally Kou. These were two people who were too similar, right down to their lack of candor in dealing with their feelings. Obviously, they were the ones they liked the most, but they had to declare that they hated them the most. The relationship between these two people is not only hindered by the personality of the person who is not what he thinks, but also disturbed by Wakaba's once unintentional words -- "Kou will definitely be able to throw the ball 160 km/h, but Aoba, you're not allowed to steal it from me". The words seem to be careless, but after the death of Wakaba, has become a ridge in the heart of Aoba, she can not step over, and it is difficult for other boys to cross over.

However, no matter how much the mouth is wrong, can not force themselves not to care about each other, especially when they witnessed each other's suitors, the heart must be a burst of sour. When Kou heard about the scandal between Shui Fai and Dong and Aoba, he was calm on the surface, but in fact, he was angry; when Aoba saw the growing distance between Xiao Xi and Kou, his face was calm, but he was not happy. However, it would be difficult to expect these two dishonest guys to pick up on anything. The meticulous Xiao Xi had sensed the unusual feelings between these two, and she had conveyed Light's dark thoughts to Aoba the night before the regional finals. As for Wakaba's words, Aoba finally understands them through the mouth of a friend - "You and Kou must be what Wakaba would like to see as well." As if waking up from a dream, Aoba took the extremely rare step of reaching out to Mitsu before the regional finals, asking him who his heart really lies with. Mitsu responded with a 160km/h pitch to Aoba -- Mitsuki Jutamura's favorite is Tsukishima Aoba.

At this point, Mitsuki Jutamura and Aoba Tsukishima finally overcame the psychological barrier called Tsukishima Wakaba and got together. Does this sound familiar? Yeah, at first glance, doesn't it sound like a rehash of Tatsuya Uesugi and Minami Asakura. But a closer look reveals a huge shift in Tatsuya Andazu's outlook on love. Starting with H2, he's stopped obsessing about love from the beginning, probably because it's ultimately too idealistic. Biru Kunimi lost his first love, Yaring, before he was forced to grow up and eventually found Haruka; Mitsuki Kudamura didn't fall apart after Wakaba's death and exchanged feelings with Aoba in the summer of his 17th year. The "Danan love model" doesn't work in this story, but everyone knows that Hikari and Aoba will be happy.

The "Four Leaf Game Deluxe Edition" published by the Qing Wen Agency, the box appearance is not meritorious, open book 32k. color pages, the book inside only the volume header has color pages, other color drawings are in the first brush of the free book of paintings ...... and expensive, the regular price of a set down to 800 plus ... ... ...To this, I just want to say - who let me is true love it, can only buy.

I'd like to thank my friends for the diagrams, so that I can show off the physical books in the book report if the books are not at hand.

Despite all the trolling, there are things I really love about this set, like this picture book that came with the first swipe.

All in all, it's still worth getting, after all, it's so much better than the standalone books in every way. Gotta pick an event price to get in though ...... The regular price is just staggering.

Youth, a topic extremely close to the lives of all people, everyone can generalize a few sentences, and then left behind to continue the life of the moment. Anda Chong, on the other hand, has been portraying youth for decades, with its unhurried and unhurried pace. By the time he wrote The Four Leaf Game, he was over fifty years old, and although he was still working on it, the temperament of his work had definitely changed from the past. In general, The Four-Leaf Game is a bit brighter and faster than H2 and Touch, which are also Andersen's baseball manga masterpieces.

Let's end with an excerpt from "Summer Rain," the theme song for the TV anime "The Four-Leaf Game:"
