Three or four hundred years ago, in the distant and beautiful Xishuangbanna, the son of the headman Zhaomeng (měng) Hai, Zhaoshutun, was handsome, smart and strong, and there were more girls who liked him than he could count, but he hadn't found his sweetheart yet. One day, his faithful hunter friend said to him: "Tomorrow, there are seven beautiful girls will fly to Langsina Lake to swim, which is the most intelligent and beautiful is the seventh girl Lanwulona, you just need to hide her peacock cloak (chang), she can't fly away, will stay to be your wife." Zhaoshutun was skeptical: "Is that so?" But the next day, he went to the Langsna Lake to wait for Princess Peacock.
And sure enough, from afar flew seven light peacocks, resting and landing on the lake turned into seven young girls, who danced elegantly and softly, especially the Seventh Princess Langwu Lona, who danced beautifully! This is the girl I've been looking for. Shao Shu Tun fell in love with her immediately. She did as her hunter friend told her, and when Rangorona's sisters had flown away and she was left alone, Shao Shu Tun came out with his peacock cloak. Rangurona looked at him and did not speak for a long, long time, but adoration had passed through her gaze. Needless to say, Zhaoshutun had married his beloved bride.
Shortly after their marriage, a neighboring tribe provoked a war, and in order to defend their homeland, the valiant Zhaoshutun and Lanwu Lona discussed the matter overnight, and the next day marched off with an army. At the beginning of the war, every day came to call Shu Tun defeat retreat bad news, see the fire is about to burn to their own territory, call Menghai anxious to chaos. But at this very moment, there is a vicious sorcerer to slander him: "Rangulona is a demon, it is she who brings disaster and misfortune, if we don't kill her, the war will surely be lost!" In his dazed mind, Zhaomenghai listened to him and decided to burn the beautiful Peacock Princess to death.
Lan Gurona stood on the execution ground, in tears, y in love with Zhaoshutun, who was conquering in a faraway land, but had to leave him. Finally she said to Zhaomenghai, "Please allow me to put on my peacock cloak and dance once more!" Zhaomenghai agreed. Rangulona put on the colorful and brilliant peacock cloak and once again danced gracefully, lightly, and elegantly, with a dance full of peace, full of love for the world, and glowing with a holy radiance that infected all present. In the melodious sound of music, Rangulona has gradually transformed into a peacock, Xu Xu air far away.
But at that moment, the news of Zhaoshutun's triumph came from the front line. In the welcome of the army to return to the victory of the singing and dancing crowd, call Shu Tun did not see his day and night longing for his wife, in the congratulations on the victory of rewarding the soldiers on the celebration of the feast, call Shu Tun still did not see Ranggurona's figure, he could no longer hold back, said: "thanks to Ranggurona came up with a way to lure the enemy into the depths of the enemy to defeat the enemy, but now where did she go to it? " Called Menghai heard, this is like a dream, but already too late to repent. He told Zhaoshu Tun the causes and consequences of forcing away Rangulona, it was really a sudden blow, Zhaoshu Tun only felt the sky spinning, fainted on the ground. After waking up, all he could think of was to go and get her back: I can't live without her, what is the meaning of my life without her?
He found a hunter friend and asked for Rangulona's hometown, which was thousands of miles away. He mounted his horse and set off again, carrying the three magical golden arrows sent by his hunter friend and his undying love for Rangulona, he overcame many difficulties and came to the entrance of a valley. The valley entrance was blocked by two elephant-like mountains, and Shao Shu Tun used the first golden arrow to shoot a way out and enter the valley. After a long and arduous struggle, no matter how much he was bruised and battered, no matter how dangerous his journey was, he finally reached the Peacock Princess's hometown. However, the king of the Peacock Kingdom, because he felt that the people of Zhaoshutun had been unfair to Rangulona, decided to test Zhaoshutun to see if he had the ability to protect Rangulona, or else he would not let Rangulona go back. The king told his seven daughters to stand behind the veil with candles on their heads and asked Zhaoshutun to find his wife and put out the candles with arrows. Zhaoshutun calmed down inwardly and with the thought of Rangulona, he shot out the candle flame on Rangulona's head with a second golden arrow and finally got the moment to reunite with Princess Peacock. They embraced again with tears in their eyes and swore never to part.
Returning home, Zhaoshutun asked his father about the evil sorcerer who had framed Rangulona, and went to seek revenge on the sorcerer. The sorcerer was actually a vulture, and when he heard that Shao Shu Tun had come to him, he immediately transformed into his original form and flew up into the sky to escape, but Shao Shu Tun drew out his last golden arrow, and with the righteousness of the arrow, he shot the evil sorcerer to death like a bolt of lightning. Since then, that symbolizes the peace and happiness of the Peacock Princess story is also widely circulated among the Dai people, infecting the hearts of people from generation to generation.
