Shenyang, referred to as "Shen" for short, is the capital of Liaoning Province, a sub-provincial city, a megacity, the seat of the Northern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and the Shenyang Joint Logistics Support Center directly under the Central Military Commission. It is an important central city in Northeast China, an advanced equipment manufacturing base and a national historical and cultural city approved by the State Council.
