2014 International Bionic Science and Technology Forum to break the economic blueprint of the new era

Over the past century, human beings have created technological miracles that have led to the depletion of the limited resources of the earth and the crisis of global warming. In the wave of reflection, "technological pollution" and "pristine nature" are often the dilemmas faced by human beings. Therefore, the emergence of "bionic technology", which integrates the wisdom of 3.8 billion years of biological evolution, has gradually brought a ray of hope to mankind! The International Bionic Technology Forum 2014 was held on June 27 (Fri.) by the Biotechnology Industry Research Center of Taiwan's Graduate Institute of Economic Research (TIER), the Biodiversity Research Center of Academia Sinica (ASC), the Industrial Economics and Trends Research Center of Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), and the Hsing Yi Fung Biotech & Agricultural Company (HYFBAC), with the invitation of Jan Banyas, the world's pioneering master of bionic science. Janine Benyus, a pioneer in bionics, was invited to present the theme of "A Sustainable World is Not a Dream: Bionics and the Search for Solutions to Global Problems", suggesting that the integration of bionics and technology should be responsible for restoring the ecology of mankind and the earth, and witnessing the establishment of the first preparatory office of Taiwan's bionic science and technology development association. In addition, it will also witness the establishment of the first bionic technology development association in Taiwan. At the same time, it will study the blueprint of Taiwan's bionic economy with nearly 500 experts and scholars, business and investment elites, and representatives of public associations and organizations present at the meeting!

Hundreds of Cross-Border Elites Gathered to Communicate with Each Other
This time, the organizer invited international bionic masters, Jenny Banyas, to share their insights on the global bionic industry with us. The main co-sponsor invited the international bionic master Jenny Banyas to share the global bionic technology application trend, successfully obtaining the industry, government, academia, and research all walks of life enthusiastic response, successfully attracted nearly 500 people to participate in this grand event! In addition to the important representatives from all walks of life, such as Dr. Hong Desheng, President of Taiwan's Graduate Institute of Economic Research (TIER), and Dr. Tsai Ching-yen, Chairman of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Mr. Tao Min-de, Ambassador of Tuvalu, a country that is facing extreme challenges to its national environment, was also in attendance, highlighting the critical influence of bionic technology. Dr. Chi-Li Sun, Director of the Biotechnology Industry Research Center of Taiwan's Graduate Institute of Economic Research, said, "According to international research, 'bionic technology' is expected to become a potentially important economy, and is being actively developed in Europe, the United States, and other countries, spanning across a variety of industries and gradually bringing about impacts in areas such as agriculture, engineering, construction, waste management, and information technology, with the manufacturing industry being the most notable. Today, bionics-based design and manufacturing processes will save more raw materials and provide better performance than traditional production methods, creating a better era of richness and diversity for the planet and for people." The keynote speakers at the forum, including world leading bionic expert Jenny Banyas, Dr. Li Wanglong, professor at the Department of Materials and Institute of Nanotechnology, National Cheng Kung University, Dr. Chen Baiyu, assistant professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Tsinghua University, and Mr. Yang Xun, vice president of Xingyifeng Biotech & Agriculture, put forward their insights on the trend of bionic science and technology and their research applications with the topic of "Learning from 3.8 Billion Years of Nature's Wisdom, and Leading Humanity to the Development of Forward-looking Science and Technology. In the meantime, Taiwan's infinite potential and opportunities will be stimulated, and through future cooperation, Taiwan will be able to stand on the stage of bionic technology in the world! Jenny Banyas Jenny pointed out in this speech, "The mechanism of nature's operation has evolved over 3.8 billion years, and now we are surrounded by various secrets of sustainable survival. Engineers or scientists must find more design inspiration in nature, such as waterproofing, aeronautics, solar power, etc., in order to enable mankind to seek a solution for the sustainability of the world in a closed loop economy. Dr. Chih-Li Sun mentioned the trend and development potential of the bionic industry in her introduction: "The potential of the bionic industry in Taiwan is still to be tapped, and it can be promoted by integrating the R&D power of academia through business and financial management, so that bionics can change the rules of the game in the market from the role of an immature industry in the economic environment, and take into account the sustainability of the environment and the growth of the economy, so as to construct the blueprint of the bionic economy that belongs to Taiwan." Prof. Wang-Lung Lee of National Cheng Kung University shared his views on biomimicry and science communication from the perspective of integrating engineering with biological wisdom. He said, "It is not feasible for human beings to triumph over nature, and human beings, who have promised themselves to be the spirit of all living things, should humbly learn from living things, and when researchers are delighted that they have discovered a lot of research topics from living things, they should also reflect on their own achievements in terms of whether or not they are making contributions to the sustainable development of the living world through the publication of many papers and innovations and inventions. Making bionic science and technology understandable and accessible to everyone, and willing to take action in the direction of sustainable development is the goal of bionic and science communication that can shine. Prof. Chen Baiyu from Tsinghua University introduced the composite materials in nature that are strong, tough and ultra-lightweight from the perspective of materials science. Prof. Chen pointed out, "Biomaterials in nature have complex nano-micron structures and excellent mechanical properties. After millions of years of evolution, biomaterials have many features that are not found in man-made materials, such as multi-hierarchical structure, multi-functionality, autocomposition at room temperature and pressure, self-repair and the ability to adapt to the environment. In addition, in the successful application cases, Xingyifeng Vice President Yang Xun thinks about agricultural technology from the wisdom of biological evolution and puts forward: "Agriculture represents the overall health of a country, and all countries are trying to improve the strength of agricultural technology and environmental development. In order to create an ideal growing environment for crops, we have spent nearly 30 years researching and scrutinizing the reasons for the formation of vibrant tropical rainforests and learning from the Creator's ingenuity. In the end, the 'circulation of Qi' and the medical bionic design concepts of the animal body were used to give the farm land the same vitality as the human body's internal organs and cardiovascular system, creating a new and vibrant environment that has never been seen before on the planet.

Taiwan Bionic Technology and Five Industries Development Association (BTDA) Preparatory Office was established as the first domestic bionic cross-field cooperation platform

In the nature's closed cycle of existence, all things as a kind of repeated reuse of resources in the bionic of the fascinating emerging field, will undoubtedly be established in all aspects of society, become the century to lead the world's emerging forces. This parallel path to economic and sustainable living is being developed by Janine Banyas, founder of the Biomimicry 3.8 Association. Janine Benyus, the founder of Biomimicry 3.8, has successfully opened up the path of biomimicry innovation for us! Therefore, with the use of dual bionic agricultural technology system of Xingyifeng biotechnology agricultural company, in order to actively promote the integration of bionic technology development resources and manpower, so that industrial clusters upgraded, and for the country's overall economy to contribute to the benefits of mutual benefit and win-win situation, forum in the bionic masters Janine Benyus and the industry, government, academia and research institutes. In the forum, under the witness of bionic master Jenny Banyas and experts and scholars from all walks of life in industry, government, academia, and research, Hao Yang, Chairman of Xingyifeng, announced the formal establishment of the "Preparatory Office of Taiwan Bionic Technology and Five Industries Development Association", and planned to conclude a strategic partnership alliance with the Bionic 3.8 Association in the future, hoping to ensure that Taiwan's bionic technology strives for a place in the international competitive environment through the integration of global resources!
