Previous Years of MIDI Music Festivals

On May 1-2, 2000, the first MIDI Music Festival was held in the auditorium of the MIDI School, with 30 bands participating and a daily audience of nearly 1,000 people.

In July 2000, the Xidan MIDI Music Week was held in Xidan Cultural Square, a large-scale, open-air rock music event held in the form of a square for a period of seven days, which brought a wider space for original music in Beijing, with an audience of more than 1,000 people each night.

The show was the biggest and coolest open-air stage for rock music in China's history.

October 1-4, 2005, the Sixth MIDI Music Festival, an important festival for music fans across China, was held on the 40,000-square-meter lawn of Haidian Park, with 40 outstanding domestic rock bands and six foreign bands providing a wonderful rock feast for the audience from all over the country, with about 8,000 people in attendance daily. The daily audience was about 8,000 people. The festival was recognized by all public opinion as having made great progress in all aspects and received strong support and approval from all governmental departments.

May 1-4, 2006, the seventh edition of the festival was held in Haidian Park as scheduled. The number of stages increased to four, and in addition to the main stage, a guitar stage, a dance music stage, and an electronic experiment stage were also added. There were nearly 500 participating bands and individuals. The daily audience exceeded 15,000 people.
