Why is dance called "the mother of art"?

This is a subject that many scholars at home and abroad are studying. Although there are different opinions, it is a coincidence that dance is one of the earliest art forms in human cultural life. "Dance is the foundation of all arts" (Encyclopedia Britannica) and "Dance is the ancestor of drama" (G. Clegg). Dance is the mother of human art and has genetic significance. So, what are their reasons and basis? Anthropologists have found that when the expressive ability of language is not very developed, human beings are very good at using expressions and gestures to exchange ideas and express feelings. Therefore, people's earliest "language" is not a verbal language spoken by mouth, but a dynamic language composed of limbs and body. According to Plato's definition: dance is an art of speaking with gestures, so dance came into being before human voice language. With an upright person who can use and make tools, the production of dance has the most basic conditions. Therefore, dancing to express feelings can be regarded as the earliest symbol of human culture and art. "The impulse to dance seems to be produced at the same time as human beings" (Encyclopedia Britannica). It is found that primitive people's original "music" was accompanied by dancing, and the original "poem" was only the combination and repetition of some pleasant sounds, which did not contain any clear meaning, but the simultaneous gestures and actions were more telling. Even those ambiguous "words" are gradually added for the needs of dance. Irrepressible, unspeakable emotional impulses make people dance. Dance has led to the emergence of other arts: music, songs, poetry and drama. This is a common saying in the genesis of art.
