Introduction to Fukasawa Arctic Observatory

Shenze Arctic Platform is located in the middle of the northern city wall of Shenze County. It was built in the 41st year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1562). It is a giant earth platform in the shape of a four-sided platform, surrounded by bricks. The base is about 2160 square meters, the top area is about 1600 square meters, the platform is 14 meters high, divided into three groups with 45 steps, and the Zhenwu Hall is built on the platform to worship the Arctic Ziwei Emperor. There are three main halls, two side halls on the east and west sides, and a bell tower and a drum tower in front of the hall. Fukasawa City originally had only three gates: east, south and west. There is no door to the north. The platform is more than four feet high and the platform base is more than 50 feet in circumference. When this platform was built, it became the highest point in Fukasawa. There was an endless stream of people picking up their clothes and climbing onto the platform. Looking from a high distance, they could see vast fields, scattered villages, and all the scenery in all directions. The earth platform was built, and the wooden pavilion was built on the platform, and the Zhenwu Temple was built (the Zhenwu Temple was said to be the God of the North, who could truly cross the sea and fly in the air, and commanded the northern kingdom). The temple's red beams and green tiles, with high eaves and teeth, make the stage suddenly glow. Under the platform, a pond was dug to lead to a spring, and willows were planted around it, making it a scenic spot in the city. The elders in the village said that Beiji Tai was the civilization of one city and the imperial examination of one county.
