Introduction to lantern dance:
Lantern dance is a traditional dance in Tongliang District, Chongqing, China, and it is one of the provincial intangible cultural heritages in Chongqing. Tongliang Lantern is a complex folk art form based on dance, integrating music and art, with local characteristics and styles. It originated in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties and was popular in Tongliang County during Guangxu period.
Tongliang Dragon Lantern Dance has become an important part of Tongliang "China Tongliang Dragon Lantern Art Festival" and "China Tongliang Dragon Lantern Cultural Tourism Festival". The important historical and cultural value, technological value and social value of Tongliang Lantern Dance with a long history and rich varieties are gradually known to the world. Tongliang Lantern Dance originated in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties and was popular in Tongliang County during Guangxu period. It was in its heyday from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China.
Lantern dance continued to develop after 1949, and was forced to stop during the Cultural Revolution, and gradually recovered after the Cultural Revolution. Tongliang Lantern Dance is rich in connotation, strong in artistry and full of local flavor. Its variety covers 26 towns and streets in the county. The main species are jumping carp in Longmen, eighteen bachelors, loach eating glutinous rice balls, three rays, mountain tiger, lion, rhinoceros looking at the moon, pig eating pumpkin, mussels playing with Misha, wild goose pagoda, pumpkin shed, floats and so on.
Tongliang county has always attached great importance to the inheritance and protection of lantern dance. The traditional way is to hold festivals, which are organized by chambers of commerce and industry business groups. After the "Cultural Revolution", it was generally led by the government and implemented by the cultural department. The lantern dance reappeared on 1980. 1984 to 199 1, the county-wide dragon lantern fair was held.
1995 launched the brand building activity of "one town, one product", each town and street excavated and arranged one or two varieties of dragon lanterns according to tradition, and participated in the dragon lantern show in the town block or county. After more than ten years of promotion, the effect is very obvious. By 2000, the old scale of dragon lanterns in Tongliang Spring Festival was basically restored.
