Lushun Military Harbor TipsThe Lushun Military Harbor is an hour or so bus ride from Dalian Railway Station.
Built in the Qing Dynasty, Lushun Military Harbor is located at the southwest end of the Liaodong Peninsula, on the north coast of the Yellow Sea. The harbor is surrounded by the Golden Mountain, the Old Iron Mountain, and the Tiger's Tail Peninsula, with only one side facing the sea, which is an advantageous geographical position and has always been a place where soldiers must fight.
Tiger tail sand spit, located in the southwest mouth of the Lushun military port, because the tail deep into the sea, was a long and narrow anti-s-shaped curved embankment, and was called the tail of the tiger. The view is clear from the top of Baiyu Mountain, looking down.
The Tiger's Tail is a natural barrier to Lushun Harbor, and for more than 100 years, it, along with the mouth of Lushun, has survived the Sino-Japanese Sino-Japanese Naval Battle, the Russo-Japanese War and other battles.
Listening to the cab driver, you can go to Old Iron Mountain to see the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea demarcation line, the color of the water at the demarcation line is obviously different. The water inside the Yellow Sea in the east is dark blue, and the water inside the Bohai Sea in the west is slightly yellow.
Lushun Military Harbor Park
Military Harbor Tour Theme Park: walk there, about 5 minutes. Lushun Military Harbor Park is located at the southern foot of Baiyu Mountain, on the northern shore of Lushun Military Harbor, and is a man-made park built in 1985. Do not look at it small and narrow, its history can be traced back to the end of the nineteenth century, which is the Beiyang Minister Li Hongzhang personally selected the site for the construction of the cost of more than 1.39 million taels of silver it was back in the day a real masterpiece. When you look down from the harbor, you can clearly see the shape of the Tiger's Tail on the other side of the river. There may also see warships sailing out, sirens blaring, happy and hearty, and broaden their minds a lot. Cannons are historical artifacts, there is no danger, it is forbidden to touch, let alone sit on them. If there is fog
then, the distant horizon will be blurred, less to see a lot of landscape, so it is better to pray first.
Military Harbor Park, located on the north shore of Lushun Harbor, faces the main channel of the harbor to the south.
The park is small and ribbon shaped. You can see the military harbor from zero distance here. During our visit, we happened to see a mighty warship carrying majestic officers and soldiers into the harbor.
At the entrance of the park is a white stone sculpture of the "Night of the Military Harbor" in the form of a young girl playing the zither. There is also an old cannon with its muzzle facing the sea.
Numerous seagulls fly around the park near the sea.
Many tourists feed the seagulls with food. I bought drum sugar cookies for my children in the park. They happily ate them while feeding the seagulls.
Worried about being pecked by the seagulls, most of the tourists broke the food into small pieces first, and then, threw it to the place where the seagulls gathered.
The seagulls are very smart, some of them fly upwards with a strong posture and can peck the food accurately. Some swooped down like arrows and pecked at the food that was about to fall into the sea.
There are also those that find food falling into the sea, dive bravely into the water, peck up the food, and then fly up with their wings.
The seagulls here are not afraid of people, and when they see someone holding food in their hands, they fly over and peck at it.
The children also followed the example of other tourists and held their food in their hands. When they saw the seagulls flying towards them, they were afraid that their hands would be pecked and they hurriedly threw down their food and ran away.
Looking from the Military Harbor Park, the islands in the sea in the distance are cloudy, as if surrounded by a white jade belt.
The smoky islands, the sea with waves, and the fluttering seagulls.
