56 ethnic groups, 56 flowers, 56 brothers and sisters are one family. There are many ethnic groups. Maybe we have the same holiday, but we celebrate it in different ways. Today, let’s take a look at different holidays. How do they celebrate? ——Starting from the Spring Festival!
The Zhuang people
celebrate the Spring Festival with the Zhuang and Han people. On New Year's Eve, it's called "New Year's Eve", and the meal for the festival is cooked. In some areas, people call it "eating festival", which means "growing old" in Zhuang language. This heralds a good agricultural harvest in the coming year. Some of them even make alkane cakes that are more than a foot long and weigh five or six kilograms, which is too much for a small family to finish in one meal! In the early morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year, people get up before dawn, put on new clothes, and set off firecrackers to welcome the New Year. Women rush to "get fresh water" from the river or well to start the new year's exciting life.
Buyi (BY)
On New Year’s Eve of the Buyi people, the whole family stayed up all night by the pond. At dawn, the girls rushed to fetch water. Whoever picks up the water first will be the girl who works the hardest and is the happiest.
Manchu people
Manchu is divided into four flags: red, yellow, blue and white. During the Spring Festival, those who hold a red flag place a red flag on the door, those who hold a yellow flag place a yellow flag on the door, those who hold a blue flag place a blue flag on the door, and those who hold a white flag place a white flag on the door. These flags have beautiful patterns and bright colors, symbolizing an auspicious start to the year.
Dun
During the Spring Festival, the Dong people will hold a mass activity called "Dong Year". This activity is similar to the "group worship" of the Han people, but it is more joyful and enthusiastic. This event is usually held by two villages through mutual agreement. The two teams officially held a Song Lusheng and dance competition in the square. At this time, the audiences in the two villages danced to the music and had a great time.
Bai (Ba)
During the New Year, the Bai people of Yunnan have a way of celebrating called "spread their wings and fly high". The so-called "high flying" is to use the whole big bamboo and put gunpowder in the bamboo cracks. After being lit, the entire bamboo can collapse hundreds of feet into the sky, becoming a veritable "high fly". The Bai compatriots in some areas, like the Miao and Zhuang people, engage in "hydrangea throwing" from the Spring Festival to the Lantern Festival. If anyone fails to catch the hydrangea, give the other person a souvenir. Those who have lost the ball many times and cannot redeem the souvenirs are willing to love.
Tujia
During the Spring Festival, the Tujia people will hold a grand swing dance. The hand-waving dance is a popular ancient dance of the Tujia people, including more than 70 kinds of dances such as hunting, military, farming, and banquets. It has a lively rhythm, graceful movements, simple dance, healthy emotions, and no props required. It has distinctive national characteristics and flavor of life.
Dai
The Water Splashing Festival is the New Year festival of the Dai people and the largest traditional program of the year for the Dai people. The first day of Guyu is designated as the Water Splashing Festival. During the three- or four-day festival, people splash water on each other to wash away the old soil and wish for happiness and peace in the new year.
