Ko Yen-bo (Au Yeung Chun-wah), a senior laboratory technician in the Department of Forensic Science, is a calm, rational and observant man who can assist the police in bringing criminals to justice based on a single piece of hair or a thread of clothing fiber. What he never imagined is that his wife's uncle, KOO CHAK SUM (Lam Man Lung), and Senior Inspector LEUNG SIU YAU (Mung Ka Wai), who are both forensic pathologists, would suspect him of poisoning their wives!
Bo finally proves his innocence with his expertise. Bo, Sam and Zoe, the three elites from the Forensic Science Department, the Forensic Science Division and the Police Force, work together again as they did in the past. One murder after another is solved, but one mystery after another emerges, and more importantly, they all seem to be directed at Bo, as if they want to kill him!

Episode 1
Lam Ting Ting is injured when she saves the life of an old woman, which leads to the revelation of a murder case involving a family of four. After arriving at the scene, senior forensic chemist Gao Yanbo knows that there are still survivors based on the blood stains alone, and Ting Ting is impressed. A female inspector, Leung Siu-yau, who has just been transferred to the Serious Crimes Bureau, takes over the case. She believes that the murderer covets the diamonds in the house owner's wallet, Tam Tak, and is after them. Bo intercepts a garbage truck and searches for the murder weapon. Zoe finds the license plate number of the truck and informs him, and Bo finally finds the murder knife and evidence in the garbage. Zoe accompanies the forensic pathologist Sam Ku Chak to conduct an autopsy on the deceased. They suspect that Tak's daughter's boyfriend Chan Man-chow is involved in the case. Zoe meets Sam at a bar and with his help, they find out that Qiu has provided a false alibi. A famous model, Sze Kee, is sexually harassed by crazy fans and calls the police for help. Zoe arrests Qiu and is about to press charges against him when she is stopped by Bo, who with Sam says that there is a new discovery in the case.
Episode 2
Sum says that he wants to find the real culprit with a no-holds-barred attitude, and Zoe is convinced. Zoe finds out that Qiu's testimony that he was stealing a car at the time of the murder is true, and denounces the owner of the car for condoning the car thief. Bo's wife, Sam's sister, Koo Chak Yiu, was paralyzed in a traffic accident years ago. Bo and Sam hear that Yiu is suffering from liver cancer, which is a bolt from the blue. Sam had gone astray when he was young, but Yiu saved him and he has been working hard ever since. Sam blames God for what happened to his sister, but Bo explains it to him. Sam discovers that the murderer of the murder case is lying and tells Yiu about it. Ting applies for the post of technician in the forensic department. Bo realizes that Ting was present at the scene of Kisaki's photo shooting and asks her to assist in the investigation. Bo finally finds the suspect who harassed Kee and discovers evidence of the murder case. Tak's son, Tam Wai-sing, wakes up and tells the story. Bo and Zoe find out the suspicion of the murder, and Sam and Bo go to the crime scene to investigate.
Episode 3
Zoe's boyfriend has moved on and is planning to get married in a foreign country. Zoe suppresses the pain of her lost love and celebrates with her subordinates for solving the case. She breaks up with the others and goes to buy a drink alone, during which she meets Sam, who knows that she has fallen out of love and tries to understand her. Bo admires Ting's observational skills and decides to hire her. Ting goes with Bo to investigate the brick-throwing murder case. She finds a vacant flat from the test results of the scientific forensic officer Mok Suk-yuen and searches for evidence. A girl is being abused by Zoe because of the brick-throwing case. When Hope arrives at the scene and hears that the girl's parents are blaming each other, she rebukes both of them. While investigating the source of the bricks, Bo and the others come across an old man whom they have seen in the stairwell of the crime scene, who turns out to be Bo's father, Mr. Gao Tong.
Episode 4
Bo's attitude towards Tong is very bad, which makes people look at him. When Tong delivers herbs to Yiu, Bo treats him coldly, but Sam is kind enough to talk to him. When Yao and Bo meet their friend Dr. Lam Pui Pui at the hospital, they have a lot of feelings for each other after a long time. Pui and Bo used to be lovers. Bo tells Pui that he realized that Ting is his sister. Yuan finds out from Sam that there is something suspicious in the case of the abused girl, Chen Shanshan, and continues to pursue the case. Sam saves a marginalized girl, Chiu Suet Man, but she accuses him of molesting her. Sam tells Zoe that she may be able to find out the behavioral pattern of the brick-thrower from the newspaper clippings. Zoe is then nearly injured by a brick thrown from a height, denying Sam's theory. Zoe gets a clue about the brick-throwing case from the forensic department and believes Sam. Bo realizes that Hope is not objective in handling child abuse cases. When Hope sees that the real culprit has been caught, she is touched by her feelings and she sheds tears. Sam discovers Ho Yiu Kwong (Blackie Yiu), the suspect in the brick-throwing case, and informs Yiu immediately, but Yiu discovers him.
Episode 5
Zoe rushes to chase Yiu, but Yiu pushes Tong down, and Yiu is arrested. Yiu pushes Tong down; Yiu is arrested. When Tong is examined, he is found to be suffering from cataract. Zoe and Sam send Tung home. Zoe accuses Bo of being unfilial. Sam reveals the past to Zoe and tells her that the reason why she cares about the marginalized youths is to fulfill Yiu's wish. Yiu begs Bo to go to the theater with Pui on her behalf. Bo says that there is not enough evidence to convict Yiu. He and Zoe find out that Lui, who comes to bail Yiu out, is suspicious and they finally find out who the murderer is. Sam meets Zoe while visiting Tung and they visit Yiu together. Zoe's brother, Leung Siu Kong, also works in the forensic department. Ting accidentally contaminates his evidence, but Bo blames Kong. Zoe is displeased and finds out about Bo's relationship with Pui and Ting, and decides that Bo is playing favorites. Pui is still in love with Bo. When she realizes how Yiu took Bo away from her, she scolds Yiu. When Yiu's chemotherapy treatment is not progressing well, Bo is distressed. When Yiu's condition changes, Bo and Sam rush to the hospital; Yiu dies of heart failure. Tong, Pui and Pok become the suspects.
Episode 6
Tong and Pui are saddened by Yiu's death, but they think that Bo can be relieved. Yuk takes care of Yiu at the hospital. She is poisoned and falls into a coma after eating a cake given by Yiu before her death. Sam discovers that the egg contains the poisonous Chinese medicine Zanthoxylum, and the test results show that Yiu has been poisoned repeatedly, thus Sam suspects Pok. On the other hand, Zoe suspects that Pui and Bo are still in love. She discovers that Pui has burnt Bo's letters, and interrogates them and detains them. Ting is convinced that Bo and Pui are innocent. Bo asks Ting to find out Pui's whereabouts so that Pui can be exonerated. When Tung learns that Bo is suspected of poisoning Yiu, he stands on the rooftop and demands to see Bo in a dangerous situation. After admitting in public that he has killed Bo's mother and Yiu, Tong tries to jump off the building, but is saved in the end. Zoe finds evidence at Tong's house, which confirms that Tong is not the murderer. Zoe shows Bo the video recording of Tong's confession, imploring him to turn himself in. Sam is inspired by the words of Yiu's former friend, Ming, and tells Zoe that there is a chance for the case to turn around.
Episode 7
Sam and Zo finally recover the carton containing the egg custard as evidence. Zoe searches Jade's husband Tsui Tin's house and finds the poisonous fluid of spotted fibers, and Tin cries out that he has been wrongly accused. When Yuk wakes up, Bo learns the whole story from her. Bo always says that he has to be fair, but Sam accuses him of failing to treat his father in the same way. Bo finally puts aside his prejudice and asks Tong to pay tribute to his mother. He is informed that Bo is upset about his mother's death by poison, so he reveals what happened and the father and son finally reconcile their differences. Encouraged by Ting, Pui wants to renew her relationship with Pok, but Pok is reluctant to do so and advises her to go back to the US to develop her career. Zoe and Sam go to a bar to look for a young girl named Zhao Xue Min. When Min falls in love with herself, they are unable to persuade her. Zoe discovers that Min's boyfriend, To Siu Wai, has been killed in a strange way, while Wai's body is found by a morning walker, and Min faints in the nearby bushes.
Episode 8
Bo believes that Wei had been in a fight at his home and his body was moved to another place after he was killed. Zoe's subordinates are worried that Ho Wing-Cheung, a "human ball" in the police force, will join their group. Zoe is about to tell her boss that she will not join their group, but she changes her mind after reading Cheong's file and calms down her subordinates. Min wakes up and denies having killed Wai. Forensic evidence shows that Min's mother, Auntie Ching, had a confrontation with Wai, and Ching also denies killing Wai. Sam discovers that Wei's head is suddenly scarred, but he can't find the murder weapon to match. Zhang is late for work on his first day and leaves a silver bag at the murder scene due to gluttony. When Bo investigates Wei's other girlfriend Sue, her best friend Fanny stands up for her as a time witness and criticizes Wei's behavior. Zhang's work attitude is criticized, but Zoe persuades him with her kind words. Kong discovers that Zoe is dating Sam and informs his father, Leung Hing Lung. When Bo finds something new in the evidence, he goes back to Sue, who slaps Fanny angrily.
Episode 9
Fanny admits that she has been hiding from Sue and is with Wei, but she finds out that he is stealing money and fights with him. Bo and Sam feel that the case is complicated and hope to find out the murder weapon and the real culprit as soon as possible, they then accidentally find out the truth. Min realizes that she has fallen in love with Wai and decides to go home to join Emily. Sam cannot bear to see Kong being over-protected by Zoe and agrees to take him to a bar, but he is drugged by a pretty girl and faints by the side of the road, losing all his belongings. Zoe is furious when Sam is revealed to be hiding the truth for Kong. Zhang publicizes the fact that Kong has been knocked out and robbed of his money. A human skull is found in a sewage canal. All of them search along the canal and find a cloth bag hiding the body. As the body is badly corroded, the search for evidence is made more difficult. Hope takes Kong and Ting to see the process of reconstructing the dead body. Auntie Yung, a woman who came to Hong Kong with a two-way permit, claims that the deceased is her missing daughter, Yung Wai. Zoe thinks that the time of her disappearance doesn't match, so she comforts her and leaves with her.
