Personal Evaluation
Personal Evaluation
I am not accustomed to my painter friends identifying themselves as philosophers or philosophers, but I see myself as an ordinary laborer or craftsman. I have had several conversations with visitors about the concept of an ordinary laborer or craftsman. They asked me what the characteristics of an ordinary laborer are. I answered that there are three aspects. First, his labor is about efficiency, and efficiency is the amount of labor. For example, if a street vendor repairs shoes or a car, his life is not guaranteed without the amount of labor. Second, he must have a sense of purity and hardship, but not a poor man, and never a rich man. Third, he should have his own workshop (calling it a study or drawing room is fine). I think this is a thousand truths. The history of art has long confirmed this point of view, and anyone will cite a few masters of art with the characteristics of laborers in ancient and modern times, such as Michelangelo, such as Qi Baishi.
Social Evaluation
Tie Yang graduated from the Central Stage Art Department in 1960. His style of painting is majestic and old-fashioned, and his realm is also subtle and far-reaching, and his methods are extremely varied but steady and calm, giving people a deep impression that he has not yet aged and is in a better state.
Tie Yang's early years were hard and formal training, at that time in the students often recited the words of a foreign art educator: modeling is more rational, while the color is more emotional. The practical experience seems to be not unreasonable. Tie Yang probably belonged to the people who were born sensitive to the subtle changes in color, and his early sketches showed that he was familiar with "assigning colors according to categories". Tones are bright and fresh, but also rich and delicate, brushwork is refined and generalized, but does not feel frivolous and simple, has been quite impressionist painters color language mystery, can be said to have "talent".
