"Dance of the River" creative background:
In the 1980s, Mike was invited to join the Irish "Chiefs " band and finally stepped into a professional dancing career. Mike saw dancing as a gift from God.
To this end, every time he danced on stage, he was sure to give it his all, and the storm of applause and cheers that came from New York's Carnegie Hall, Hollywood's Amphitheater and other famous venues, and the ecstatic reaction of the audience in various countries all gave him full recognition.
However, in Mike's heart, there is still a dream for many years, which is to create a masterpiece of dance in his heart. But because he didn't have the financial resources, manpower or background to do so, he had to wait patiently for his chance.
And this opportunity did not keep him waiting too long. 1993, Mike was invited back to Dublin to participate in "5000 Years of the Spirit of Mayo", a celebration of Irish music and dance, and once again, the audience danced their jaws off the floor, mesmerized, in the audience at that time there was Ireland's Prime Minister Mary Robinson, as well as the Irish National Television producers.
So Mike received an invitation to perform a halftime show for the Eurovision Song Contest the following year. And so, on his own, he choreographed, directed and starred in the piece that changed his own destiny, and that of thousands of people who love to dance, "Riverdance".
