Proud of our voice actors
This article was written by Su Xiu
I think he is, I'm afraid, the most popular and beloved of our voice actors. Born in 1922 and died in 1980, he was a mixed-race child with a Fujianese father and a White Russian mother. But he was sent back to his home in Fujian since he was young and was not with his birth mother, so he did not know Russian. But his Chinese was good, and he acted in plays in Tianjin and other places before the liberation, and after the liberation of Shanghai he was one of the first voice actors to enter the factory. He was one of the first voice actors to enter the factory after the liberation of Shanghai. Among that group were Shang Hua, Fu Runsheng, Yao Nianyi and Zhang Tongning.
Qiu Yuefeng did not have a beautiful voice, or even a good one, but he was extremely intelligent and hard-working, and he had a strong understanding of the original film and a wealth of acting skills.
He can play all types of characters of all ages. It was always felt that he was particularly good with humble characters, such as the thief in Police and Thieves, the fantasist in White Night, the Jewish barber in The Great Dictator, and Verdoux in Monsieur Verdoux, and that it was his monopoly to accompany Chaplin's films, as if no one could have mastered his humorous and rhythmic lines better than he could.
In addition to the minor characters, it seems that he is an expert in pairing all sorts of bad guys, such as the Trotskyists in the early Soviet film "Lenin in 1918," the small shopkeeper in the French film "Les Miserables," and the priest in "Notre Dame" ....... But he was also able to match the complex feelings of the eccentric English gentleman Rogster in Jane Eyre, who is both cultured and overbearing, who treats Jane Eyre roughly on the outside but considers her a confidant on the inside. In "Forty-one", the white lieutenant is handsome and charming. Qiu Yuefeng's voice is not good, but he is able to play the role well because of his language skills, which makes the character's charisma and charm. In "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner", he plays the father who worries about his daughter's marriage (played by the famous Hollywood actor Spencer Quessey), a successful upper-class American, who is smart, confident, open-minded, and has always been against racial discrimination, but when his only daughter really wants to marry a black man, he is very skeptical, and is angry with himself for this reason. His final, almost ten-minute monologue is as much Spencer Quesnel's masterpiece as it is, shall we say, Qiu Yuefeng's.
He's really a master of his craft, as well as Captain Corum, the Czech puppet film The Good Soldier Shuaike, Karenin in the Soviet film Anna Karenina, and the mayor in the French film The Red and the Black.......
I've played opposite him many times in my life. In addition to the "41" he paired with the White Army lieutenant, I paired with the Red Army female warrior Malyutka, in the "cops and robbers" he paired with the thief, I paired with the thief's wife, in the Soviet film "The Long Way" I paired with the Tsarist female revolutionary, he paired with the female revolutionary's lover, as well as in the Cultural Revolution with the film of the internal affairs of the "incarnation of Dr.," he paired with the doctor (played by Spencer Quesnel) I paired with the barmaid (Ingrid Bergman), he paired with the doctor in the Soviet film "Red Berries," I paired with the barmaid (Ingrid Bergman). In the Soviet film "Red Berries" he was paired with Yegor (played by the famous Soviet actor Vasily Shukshin) and I was paired with Lyuba (played by Vdosheeva), but unfortunately neither of these two films could be staged in public, which is really regrettable.
Our factory's lip-sync work is a very hard job, and requires lip-sync people to be able to read well, fast-mouthed, because lip-sync is reading the translation of the first draft of the translation of our lip-sync people are unfamiliar to us, but you have to read it out word for word immediately and fluently, because the interpreter and the director not only want to check the length of the words through lip-sync to see if it is consistent with the original film, but also to see if the translation is consistent with the original film's actors' movements and expressions, and also to see if it is consistent with the original film's actors' movements and expressions. It's also a quiet job, because the translator and director not only have to check the words by lip-synching, they also have to see if the Chinese translation matches the movements and expressions of the actors in the film.
Since the establishment of the lip-synching system in 1950, Qiu Yuefeng, Yao Nianyi, Zhang Tongning, and I did all the lip-synching for all our films. Later on, Refusal and Pan Weiyuan were added. We were not just responsible for the number of words, but we also helped the interpreter and the director to revise the lines, and Qiu was especially full of ideas. A young French translator, Li Chengbao, once said to me, "I really admire Lao Qiu. When he says I'm wrong, I'm most likely wrong. He said, "Could this be what he meant?" I looked up the original text carefully, and sure enough, he was right." I said, "He doesn't know French, but he knows theater. He said you were wrong because the play wouldn't go down. He said could it mean that, it's inferred by the context of the lines and the characterization, the relationship of the characters and so on." That's why every translator and director wants to work with him.
By the late 1970s when Qiao Hazel and Yang Chengchun took over, Bi Ke and I were not much involved in lip-synching. But Lao Qiu kept working on it until he left the factory and passed away.
It should be said that the presence of lip-synchers enabled the translator and director to revise the lines taking into account many factors of the original film, which was very beneficial to the quality of the script. Moreover, when revising the script, a few people would have a word with each other and inspire each other, which would often result in some wonderful sentences, and that's when everyone would be especially happy, even without hearing the bell for lunch break, which can really be said to be a waste of sleep and food.
Qiu Yuefeng committed suicide, and on that Monday morning in March 1980, as soon as I walked into the actors' lounge, I felt that the atmosphere was not right, there was no sound of the usual jokes and laughter, and there were no smiles on everyone's faces.
I asked Wu Jingwei, who was sitting opposite me, what had happened, and he said, "Sit down first." I sat down at his words, and he said, "Qiu Yuefeng is dead!" I heard the whole body sweat hairs are erected, eagerly asked: "How to die? When? How is this possible? He was fine on Saturday!" He told me that Lao Qiu had a fight with his wife on Saturday afternoon and took a large amount of sleeping pills to commit suicide.
While his family soon found him and sent him to the hospital, and our factory leaders immediately rushed to the hospital in the hope of saving his life at all costs, he died on Sunday due to the overdose of drugs.
Why in the world he had to die was always a mystery to me. He was good to his wife, and in those two years when watermelons were hard to come by, he bought watermelons and sent them home on his bicycle in the heat of the day. His wife was more concerned about him, his wife worked in the production team, limited wages, can save money to buy ginseng for him, saving money and hard work to support the family ...... most of his life have passed why suddenly to die? He died too bad! Too bad!!!
The Qiu Yuefeng I know
Author: Wang Yichu
The first time I heard Qiu Yuefeng's name was in the mid-1940s. At that time, there was a "hard-working theater troupe" based in the French Concession in Shanghai (now the Great Wall Cinema), and one of the actors, Liu Qun, once told me that because of the lack of popularity of their productions, this kind of troupe would often break up, and the actors often did not even have the money to go home, so they had to go out into the world. The actors often don't even have the money to go home, so they have to go out into the world and set up another troupe. Qiu Yuefeng's situation was similar to that of Mr. Liu. But the reason why this name left an impression in my mind, because Mr. Liu introduced Qiu Yuefeng's hand of "masterpiece": he can play a set of drums in the song and dance arena, two thin drumsticks, in his hands to play the drip drip drip, click on the size of the drum surface, the beat of the lightness and severity of the beat, light as a light rain, like the eaves of the dripping water like lyricism, heavy as a heavy wind and rain, the momentum like the wind and rain, the momentum like the wind and rain, the momentum like the wind and rain, the momentum like the wind and rain, the momentum like the wind and rain. The wind and rain, the momentum like a mountain torrent collapsed. Can be described as extraordinary, convincing. Listening to Mr. Liu's account, I would like to see Qiu Yuefeng's "masterpiece", but unfortunately at that time even his face did not see.
When Shanghai was liberated, I undertook a small job of writing plays in a small theater and made friends with Li Ming, a movie actor. Li Ming's other hobby was comic strips, and he was familiar with the famous artist Zhao Hongben. Mr. Zhao liked to make friends with people from all walks of life. Li Ming introduced us to Mr. Zhao's "Shanghai Fellowship of Comic Strip Authors". The "association" was actually Mr. Zhao's studio, and there were more than ten like-minded people.
One morning in late spring, a high-nosed, deep-eyed, brown-haired "foreigner" who spoke fluent "Mandarin" came to Li Ming and asked him to introduce him to the "Fellowship" to write a comic book script. This man was Qiu Yuefeng. This man was Qiu Yuefeng. Mr. Chiu was happy to see him and registered him. I'm not sure if Qiu Yuefeng wrote any comic book scripts after that, but Li drew more than 10 comic books, and then went on to another job at the Art Theater.
Qiu Yuefeng lived not far from my home, in Qianjiatang, opposite Xiangyang Park on Huaihai Road (now demolished.) In the early 1960s, I touched his house to see how this "foreigner" lived. When I entered the house, I saw his high-nosed mother, wearing a Russian-style dress, busy with household chores. His son had natural yellow hair. Otherwise, the impression is now blurred.
Between 1957 and the rise of translated films, Qiu Yuefeng was a voice actor at the Shanghai Film Translation Factory. In classic films such as Jane Eyre, Tragedy on the Nile, and Zorro, his voice-overs were so beautifully voiced and the rhythm of his words so exquisite that they were loved by the audience. We know that it is difficult to be a voice actor without a certain cultural and artistic connotation.
Qiu Yuefeng also starred in Zhao Dan's "Lin Zexu", played a high nose without filling in the disguise of the "foreigners" supporting roles, from the backstage of the dubbing directly into the screen, so that more viewers get a glimpse of its true colors.
Recently, I met Li Ming again and talked about the anecdotes of Qiu Yuefeng. Once Li returned from the field performance, Qiu Yuefeng carrying a suitcase followed. Unexpectedly out of the station, a public security officer to check his "passport", Qiu Yuefeng froze. Seeing this, Mr. Li rushed to help him out. It seems that a "foreign face", but also has "pros and cons".
Memory of the famous voice artist Qiu Yuefeng
Author: Li Yuan
All movie lovers can't forget the beautiful movie Jane Eyre, and can't forget Qiu Yuefeng, the voice of Rochester. His despairing "Jane -" still seems to haunt our chests ...... Nineteen years ago in March, he left behind his relatives and flesh and blood, left behind the audience who loved him, and still set foot on the A road of no return.
We miss him--
March spring rain pattered down, the night sky constantly ringing Lantern firecrackers, people are still immersed in the last Spring Festival of the century in the joyful end of the century, my heart is so heavy... ...Looking out the window at the flickering lights of the Oriental Pearl Tower, and gazing down at the three photos on the desk, this is an old man who once had a great career, pursued and struggled, and many years ago on such an early spring day in March, he left, leaving behind his beloved movie dubbing career, and disappeared forever! In the twenty years since he left this world, I have heard his name, Qiu Yuefeng, whispered about constantly. During the twenty years that I have been working as a foreign movie compiler, how many readers have written and called to ask about him? An actor from the Mudanjiang Peking Opera Troupe wrote to say, "Voices like Mr. Qiu's are too rare, and I hope that the leaders of the translation plant will consider quickly training a successor to the Qiu school." A young man from Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province wrote, "I can hardly believe this sudden and unfortunate news. He won't die, he won't die." A college student at the Beijing Post and Telecommunications College appealed, "Send me a copy of the effigy and tell me why he died so suddenly." At this moment I am holding in my hands a thick stack of letters forwarded to me by Qiu Bichang, Qiu Yuefeng's oldest son, and I am overwhelmed with thoughts. Many years, there is always a voice echoing in the heart: hopefully there will be no more tragedies in the future, hopefully ......
However, to turn the page of history, to pick up the layer of epidermis knitted on the scars, it is really too heavy, too painful. Six years ago a close friend of mine urged me so firmly, "You must write, you must write about him!" Yet today she, like all those who are busy enjoying life, urges me to "Forget it, because it hurts too much!" No, no! I couldn't resist that call from the depths of my heart, and finally dialed Qiu Bichang's phone, and the voice on the other end of the phone was calm, and naturally couldn't hide a little bit of surprise, so the two of us sat down face-to-face to unveil a page of this heavy life.
"I want to talk about your father, especially how the old man went, very rude, out of place, right, but I have to say, let's not walk into the new epoch with too many burdens, too many regrets, if all this happened today, maybe nothing is the same is it?" In the shell, soul, spiritual qualities, Qiu Bichang have father's blood, hidden under that calm, calm appearance is a warm heart.
"I think you must be most interested in knowing how my father died, I do not agree that this matter for a kind of publicity that beckons the public, such as called 'the mystery of death'. In fact, my father's death was a kind of necessity; his situation, encounter, and character all determined that he was very likely to follow this path. Because he was not only an artist, but also a good father, very romantic and rich inside, the reality was very unfavorable to him, it can be said that it was too difficult and twisted, and his personality was too introverted, so there was nothing he could do to free himself, he could only look for this kind of homecoming." Qiu Bichang sipped his espresso and smoked a cigarette. "That day was the last day of March, the 29th, the day was very good ......" Qiu Bichang was silent for a while, the past is like smoke, however, this scene will never be forgotten. "His eyes were very special this day, like he had a lot to say, but always moved his lips and did not make a sound. My father's favorite was my sister; our family was five children at one ****, three boys and two girls, and now there is only one girl left, my sister. My oldest sister had acute pneumonia as a baby, and had to buy penicillin to get enough money, and then borrowed money from someone to buy the injection, and it was too late, and she had died. So my father put that thought of his eldest daughter into his love for my sister." Qiu Bichang paused once more and said very heavily, "Dad didn't even have time to say goodbye to us, he just fainted. We rushed him across the street to Huaihai Hospital and resuscitated him for a day and a night, but he never woke up. The next day, March 30, I remember the spring thunder, especially loud like a thunderstorm. Pouring rain fell non-stop, the whole day and night, precisely I went out to do a little, the hospital notified my father has not been able to news, I rushed to the hospital, the road was jammed to death, I rushed to the hospital, all covered in water, rain, sweat, tears are mixed together. I always felt in my heart that God was pitying him, ten years later I buried my father's ashes from Longhua to Suzhou shortly after the Qingming Festival, and it rained so heavily." Qiu Bichang took a drag on his cigarette, perhaps to depress the heaviness in his heart, behind the smoke, I couldn't see and didn't have the courage to look into that pair of eyes.
"The fact that my father left so resolutely and so quickly was probably not expected by my mother, my sister and brother and me. I always thought I could take some immediate measures, wash my stomach or something, and I would wake up in a few days, but who knows ......" He paused and exhaled a circle of smoke very heavily. Later I heard from his peers, Qiu Yuefeng is not the first time that he wanted to seek this kind of homecoming. Listening to his family, fortunately, his wife is around. When he was wearing the "historical counter-revolutionary" hat that year, he took sleeping pills, and she found out that he had taken sleeping pills, and immediately used her hands to pick them up, which finally saved his life. Later, during the Cultural Revolution, there was another incident. What is it? I'm not sure what I'm talking about, but I'm not sure what I'm talking about, and I'm not sure what I'm talking about.
Those days, I visited Qiu Yuefeng's contemporaries, his colleagues and students, and I searched and examined some of the records of those years, confronting the traces of those who had passed away. However, I do not want to be so mechanical and superficial about this matter, twenty years of historical process, has enabled us to comment fairly and dialectically on a historical period of a specific environment caused by the deep and surface, personal and environmental, internal and external factors.
In any case, if Qiu Yuefeng had lived until now, that episode would never have happened, and the tragedy would never have been repeated. We follow the cause of death tracing the trail of the passing years ...... "Our family's house is small, that is notorious. 1953 my family moved from Changning Road to Nanchang Road, an old-style alleyway a room of only seventeen square meters to live in a seven-member family, grandmother, parents, four children, the older children are sleeping on the floor. The oldest children slept on the floor. My father's salary was rated at 103 yuan when he first entered the factory, and it was still 103 yuan when he died. I remember when the 'Cultural Revolution' ended, my father received the wages that had been withheld for those years, and counted them to be about a thousand yuan, and as soon as he walked in the door he shouted happily, 'Go and buy two beds! It was then that we were able to sleep on wire beds. Despite the hardship, my father never complained. He was very good at enjoying himself, not to mention his work, but in life, he did everything very well. He did quite fine carpentry, there was a period of time, that is, 'wearing a hat' period, he was sent to the translation factory backyard a small carpentry shed as a carpenter, is considered to be 'labor reform'. He concentrated on learning the carpentry work, but also really show a hand. A few pieces of furniture at home were still very good. He was able to put together the extra triangular edges of a clock base to make a delicate patchwork chest of drawers. He liked flowers and plants, especially loved to plant rubber trees, the corner of the house, the rubber tree, before he died that year, grew tall and leafy, all the way up to the roof. He loved to talk about things in the theater, very humorous. I remember when he was alive, the house is always crowded with young people coming to the door to seek advice, my father can be good to them, often to eleven or twelve o'clock before they send them away. The reason for my father's death was actually clear; he couldn't stand the injustice done to him."
The information I have inquired about and the facts recounted by Qiu Bichang are consistent with the fact that what Qiu Yuefeng suffered during his lifetime was, to say the least, insufficiently just. Despite the fact that the party organization and administrative leaders of the translation plant adopted a policy of tolerance and understanding towards him, and that many enterprising colleagues of the older generation got along well with him, the facts remain unchanged, and he has always carried the hat of "historical counter-revolutionary". The "Cultural Revolution", this hat is naturally heavier, twenty years for so many "poisonous weeds" voice, a "reactionary academic authority" conclusion has been considered very light, every time the bucket criticism, Every time he was put in the bullpen, he could not escape. Qiu Yuefeng's personal history is actually not complicated, born in Fuzhou City, his grandfather was a military officer stationed at the Sino-Soviet border, married a White Russian woman, so Qiu Yuefeng also has White Russian blood. He left his hometown at the age of nine and joined his relatives, studying in Tianjin and Beiping and living a life of dependency. After attending an English language college for a while, he gave up his studies and began to work as an actor, arriving in Tianjin in 1942 at the age of 20 with the Daya Drama Troupe. In 1942, Qiu Yuefeng moved to Tianjin to work in the Daya Drama Troupe, when he was just 20 years old, where he did everything, including setting up sets, moving props, doing lighting effects, managing make-up and costumes, etc. He also appeared onstage as a runner, and in 1945, he went to the Lianhua Drama Club in Beiping, where he formally appeared onstage in the role of a character, acting in the play "Singing in the Middle of the Night", and then joined the Yan Brigade Theatre Troupe in 1947, and then went to Shanghai Drama Club in 1949. Qiu Yuefeng was a voice actor of the generation of Shanghai Film Translation Factory. According to the memory of his contemporary, Mr. Fu Yunsheng, a dubbing artist, "Qiu Yuefeng was the fourth one to enter the studio. I and Shang Hua came in after him, but the first film he dubbed with the actress Yao Nianyi (Yao died at a young age due to a difficult labor) was the Soviet film Little Hero. Those years were very hard, but we were all very happy and excited because we had just been liberated. It was also the beginning of the translation business, and Qiu Yuefeng was very dedicated and committed to the business. Factory leaders were good to him, when the Party organization to keep him down, as 'stay in the factory for probation' Chen Xuyi, director of the factory is the dubbing burden entrusted to the old Qiu, 'Cultural Revolution' a period of time before the old Qiu's career has been relatively smooth." "During the ten years of the Cultural Revolution, Qiu Yuefeng always lived with the belief that he was looking forward to the day when his historical problems would be clarified. He was looking forward to not "hat", but "vindication", but he was looking forward to the right and the left, looking forward to not head down.
His "hat" was removed, and in fact has been heavily worn in his heart. Because his most heartbreaking is that the children innocently implicated, his daughter can never be transferred from the farm, in the farm for eight years. Many people's sons and daughters have returned to the city, university entrance exams, transfer, while their own daughter's matter is delayed. No wonder Qiu Yuefeng had to lament and shed tears to his friends.
In the six months leading up to his death, many setbacks and upsets came his way, and at the end of 1979, Qiu was informed that his complaint had not been resolved and that he was not included in the list of those who would be vindicated. He despaired and appealed for two years without result. In those days, he was so disillusioned and depressed. It was better to have hope but not be able to look forward to it than to despair over everything. Soon after, he was elected by the cast as the annual advanced member, but when it was finally announced, it was under a different name. Someone reminded him, "You're an internal control," and his heart trembled. Looking back, some old comrades remembered that Qiu Yuefeng avoided everyone in those days, and his face became darker and thinner. On the busy day of New Year's Day in 1980, no one paid attention to him as a "problematic" person, and he hid in a corner, crying sadly. When a young actor saw this scene, he advised him sadly, Qiu Yuefeng could not suppress the anguish in his heart, and burst out in agony: "I want to retire, wait until May '81 and retire right away!"
Since then, "I want to retire, I quit!" Such words often came out of his mouth, in the factory, at home, he looked so anxious. Qiu Yuefeng's fame is not small, an artist who enjoys a certain reputation, naturally also very protective of their own face, very concerned about public opinion judgment. What happened in the end was in fact only a small fuse, about which the father had a long talk with his son. Qiu Bichang told me: "Not many days before he left, he talked to me about those rumors about his 'getting along with young actors'', he didn't care at that time, and only said a few words: 'I really don't have much to do with it, it's a young aspiring actor with a promising future He said, 'I really don't care, this is a young aspiring actor with a future, and he's working very hard, so in my heart I just want to give him some help to succeed in his career.' In fact, in hindsight, it was really a trivial matter. At that time, I felt that the root cause of my father's death was the heavy yoke that had been weighing on his heart for many years. I have since thought about it calmly, if a person does not have the slightest hope for the future, and repeatedly wants to be relieved, then it is not a good thing to take this desperate path. It is a regrettable thing for his family and others, but it is a relief for him." I looked at Qiu Bichang's hopeless look and said, "Saying this, you feel better in your heart, right?"
It may have been a relief for Qiu Yuefeng, but it was too heavy a blow for the fans who loved him. People nowadays may have long forgotten, but history will not forget. This scene makes me y feel that a famous actor's heart can be so close to the ordinary people, until today there are so many people remember him, miss him, is really Qiu Yuefeng's luck and fortune.
Qiu Yuefeng died, this sudden misfortune made his family, peers, friends stunned. Veteran artist and voice actor Su Xiu recalled in her book "My Voice Acting Career," "He was, I'm afraid, one of the most beloved of our voice actors." She still finds it hard to accept the fact that Lao Qiu died by suicide. Qiu Yuefeng's students were all over the country, and the news spread. Though there were no newspaper postings, no memorial service in which a government agency stepped in, yet everything was more grand and exciting than expected. In the hall of Longhua Cemetery, a steady stream of people who came to offer condolences crowded the hall; the six hundred or so yellow flowers that had been prepared were handed out at once, and then increased to nine hundred or so were not enough, and people continued to come between, many of whom had never been seen before, and who, without leaving their names, sent wreaths of flowers, saying only that they were spectators who loved Qiu Yuefeng. The eulogy was read by three people: union representative Fu Yunsheng, cast leader Li Zi and Qiu Yuefeng's lifelong friend Han Fei.
In 1980, when two celebrities -- Zhao Dan and Qiu Yuefeng -- left Shanghai's literary scene, the spring was particularly cold and rainy. When I came into contact with Qiu Yuefeng's contemporaries and descendants, I could almost always get the same feeling, "Old Qiu is too stuffy, he has a weakness in character." I think it may be possible to explain that Qiu Yuefeng is an artist, and that one cannot leave the characteristics of an artist to judge him. His spiritual realm is always full of contradictions. It is always unquiet and painful. Because his ideal is too perfect, wearing a kind of romantic phantom; he is in the reality of the environment is very bad, the two are too far away, the conflict is too intense. Qiu Yuefeng is very much like some artists in the past generations, Hemingway, the writer, Van Gogh, the painter, they all searched for the perfection, passion and tolerance that do not exist in the world, but in the end they all despaired. I think we should understand, sympathize and deplore them and say, "Rest in peace!"
Let's turn the heavy page of history over and be uplifted in remembrance. Come in these days, Shanghai Film Translation and Production Plant immersed in a kind of revitalization of the joy, the new director of a new leader of a new team new style, in short, a new beginning, bring a new look. In short, a new beginning brings a new look. It is our purpose to honor these meritorious people of the founding period and to carry on with the past and the future. When we talk about Qiu Yuefeng, we naturally think of the "Qiu School". Qiu Yuefeng's art is characterized by his step-by-step approach from a rugged path, forming his own unique style through years of hard work, which is today's popular "brand", and people love to call him "Qiu School". The formation of "Qiu Pai" is a matter of "water dripping over a stone". Back then, it was once asserted that Qiu had no future in the movie translation business, because his voice was hoarse and his range was not wide, and he used to cover up his vocal shortcomings on stage with his expressive strengths. But strangely enough, this shortcoming, once refined, transformed and sublimated, turned into a characteristic, and later developed into a feature, and finally became a genre. I think that when Lenin in 1918, Lenin was matched by the famous actor Zhang Hua, Qiu Yuefeng was only matched with the role of the agent who bought the captain of the guards in the Winter Palace, only a few words, Qiu Yuefeng heard his own strange voice, quacking like a male duck quacking, a little embarrassed. But later, in one role after another, he practiced his voice like wrought iron, and developed a shiny color and hardness. By the time he was cast in the Italian film "Cops and Thieves", he made a great leap forward, and from then on, he really gained a firm foothold in the field of translation, and won the appreciation of the public. From then on, he was the voice of the main characters in a series of masterpieces, and among the more than two hundred translations, he has played the main roles in more than two hundred films: the shopkeeper in Les Misérables, the priest in Notre Dame de Paris, the lieutenant of the White Army in The Forty-First, the good soldier Shuaike in Shuaike, the mayor in The Red and the Black, the father in Caiyi yiqiyi who is going to come to eat supper, and the father of the king of the country, Anna Karenina in Anna Karenina. Karenin in Anna Karenina, Verdoux in Mr. Verdoux, the Jewish barber in The Great Dictator ...... The most famous Jane Eyre is the peak of his work, and people can still hear the moans and cries of a wounded heart in the tape of Qiu Yuefeng Out of Print. What Qiu Yuefeng brings us is not only the enjoyment of sound, but also an endless cultural and artistic heritage.
The Translation Factory, up and down, is proud to have Qiu Yuefeng as a master dubbing artist for several generations. Many people said to me, "We only remember his achievements in art, which is the greatest value of his life, and nothing else is surprising." Qiu Yuefeng was carrying a heavy cross and created an artistic treasure under such cramped and difficult living conditions, and this legacy he gave to his descendants is rich, so he was rich. As a fan who has watched all of his translations said, "There are so many translations today, but it's rare to hear a voice as deep as Mr. Qiu's." I think let's take a cue from the memory of forgetting and **** together start this career!
Looking at Qiu Yuefeng from afar
Written by Chen Tuohu
Fifteen years ago, late one night, Qiu Yuefeng, who had taken an overdose of sleeping pills orally, was rushed to the hospital, and because of the failure to resuscitate him, he left forever his friends who loved his art of dubbing, and this year, at 71 years of age, Shanghua recalls the last side of that afternoon, which he remembers still fresh in his mind. Right on the second floor of the small building of the Translation Factory, Qiu Yuefeng, who had just finished dubbing "Ao Lei Yilan", calmly said to Shang Hua, "I just finished dubbing." Shang Hua, who regards Qiu Yuefeng as his big brother, told reporters that it was too bad that the old Qiu had a rough life and suffered so much, but in the end he didn't pull through.
"In many films, Lao Qiu matched the negative characters, I matched the positive characters, more than 30 years of cooperation is very pleasant, Lao Qiu left, it feels in the business is missing a great partner." In the conference room of the translation factory, Bi Ke talked about Qiu Yuefeng, and couldn't help but tear up the corners of his eyes, saying that the popularity of the translation film was due to Qiu's credit and hard work.
In the small building office, Yu Ding and Qiu Yuefeng's desk next to each other, Yu Ding remembered, Qiu Yuefeng always come to work early in the morning, sweeping the floor and playing water. "The old factory director Chen Xuyi very much appreciate the talent of the old Qiu, the old Qiu has the baggage of historical problems, the old factory director dared to use him, then the old factory director at 7:30 to the factory, 8:00 a.m. on the release of the film, if no one to the lip-sync, it would be a problem. Both Lao Qiu and us were severely criticized by the old factory director, and sometimes we even cried. The old factory director was a good businessman, and he had a set of ideas about the training and use of actors like Lao Qiu." Yu Ding tsked at Chen Xuyi's love of talent.
Fu Yunsheng, who joined the factory with Qiu in the early 1950s, marveled at Qiu's level of dedication, saying, "We were all uncomfortable in the beginning, but he adapted quickly and got the hang of it earlier than we all did." He told reporters that in the "Jane Eyre" dubbing, Qiu Yuefeng often think hard, can not eat, do not sleep well, walking is also silently thinking about the problem, sitting in the public **** car past the station do not know, Shang Hua Qiu Yuefeng for the "Jane Eyre", "Les Miserables", "Notre Dame de Paris", Chaplin, etc., as a dubbing of the "perfect match. He said: "Old Qiu dubbing is extremely delicate, a breath, a smacking action have flavor, are not spared, he himself thinks: 'This also makes the character of the component parts.'" According to Cao Lei, some actors' voices are dead when they leave the screen. Lao Qiu's voice, on the other hand, is three-dimensional and lifelike, not a simple dubbing source. She remembers Qiu Yuefeng dubbing an exaggerated character in Pride and Prejudice, speaking many words in one breath, fast and still mastering the rhythm and elasticity. She sighed: "Old Qiu's mouth is so skillful that people admire him from the bottom of their hearts."
Zhao Shenzhi called Qiu Yuefeng a gifted and rare voice actor, but he had no arrogance or bravado, and replied to viewers' letters as best he could. She said Lao Qiu was helpful and did a lot of behind-the-scenes work that no one knew about, never publicizing it.
Li Zi, who has just returned from a trip to the country, said she didn't know where to start when talking about her old friend Qiu Yuefeng. She said slowly: the old Qiu profound, very hard work, his voice is limited (sorry, copy here is not clear), but the ability to shape the character is very strong, the old Qiu himself is very fond of "Jane Eyre" in the character of Rochester, the role of the experience is very deep, put a lot of energy, with a perfect match, very colorful. She said, "The collaboration is mutually reinforcing, rendering each other, making myself particularly emotional when I was dubbing Jane Eyre.
She said softly that she would like to work with him, very much.
That day at dusk, blind in one eye due to illness, ...... (sorry, the copy is not clear, really can not see the name of the person) lost in thought looking out the window, from time to time wipe his eyes, murmured, "miss him."
