Superheroes Season 1 Synopsis - Episode 1

Recently, a group of people with supernatural abilities have appeared all over the world, and although they may not realize it themselves, they are on a mission to not only save the world, but more importantly, to change forever the way its orbit. This transformation from ordinary man to superhuman doesn't happen overnight; every long-running legend has a beginning, and ours begins with a younger brother who is overshadowed in all his glory by his big brother.

Peter, who works in a nursing home, has been having a dream lately: he's looking around in a daze, and a voice with an Indian accent rings out beside him, "Where does this longing come from? It wants to unravel all the mysteries of life, yet it can't answer even the simplest questions? Why are we here? What is the soul anyway? Why do we dream? Perhaps the answers are so small as to be inadequate ...... "So Peter found himself standing on a roof somewhere, and he was shaking and about to fall to the ground. The mysterious voice sounded again, "But this is not the human Self. Nor is it the true self within humanity. It does not answer the question of what makes humans human ......" Peter fell, very slowly, to the ground like a feather. Every now and then, Peter woke up suddenly.

Peter wakes up in the hospital, but can't remember what happened or why he's lying in the hospital. Nathan is glad he's forgotten that. Because if Peter had kept thinking about flying, he wouldn't have known what to do. On the other hand, a senator who can fly is not good for the popularity ratings. Nathan lied to Peter that he was planning to kill himself, and Peter said he seemed to remember Nathan flying up and catching himself, and Nathan laughed awkwardly.

Hiro Nakamura arrives at Times Square in a futuristic New York City and runs through the streets, laughing, "Wow! New York! Britney Spears! I'm coming!" He ran past a newsstand and his smile disappeared. The cover of one of the comics for sale at the newsstand depicted the very image of himself. It showed him in Times Square cheering, "I did it!" He couldn't help but turn the pages. When the newsstand owner came out to intervene, he tossed him some yen and walked away as he flipped through the pages. It wasn't until he was two blocks away that he suddenly realized what he had done.

In the manga, everything matches Nakamura's life. The big clock, the office, the friends who laughed at him, the people around him calling him "superhero Nakamura". It all rings true. Nakamura turned to the back page of the comic, which bore the name of the comic's author, Isaac Mendez, along with Mendez's address.

Isaac, the cartoonist, is telling his girlfriend about an experience he had in a dream. He dreamed that a white light flashed in the sky, followed by the flattening of all of New York. Because all the scenes in his previous dreams have actually happened, he worries that New York is in danger of a nuclear attack. His girlfriend, however, is unimpressed, telling him that it's entirely the after-effects of his drug use and telling him to get some rest.

Nakamura finds Isak's apartment. The door was open and Nakamura walked in, seeing several paintings with his own face on them. There was blood in the room. Following the blood he saw a gun. Panicked, Nakamura doesn't know what he's doing, but picks the gun up. The next thing he saw was Isaac's body, having had his skull bone cut open with a chainsaw and his entire brain missing.

In hot pursuit, Peter called his brother Nathan to the roof, "Tell me you can fly; show me. Or I'll spread the news and your election is going to be a flop." Nathan hesitated. Peter took a step back toward the rafters, pretending to almost fall when his foot slipped. Nathan finally showed his cards, "Well, we can both fly, when you fell, there was no way around it, you were too heavy for me to catch you, but we both flew so neither one of us was seriously hurt." Peter asked something inexplicable at this point, "Are you lying?" Nathan didn't say anything. Peter got agitated, "

You're just lying! You said that because you thought that's what I wanted to hear! You lied to me again!" Nathan looked at Peter dumbfounded, his fingers trembling as he pointed at his feet. In his excitement Peter had retreated outside the eaves of the house and his feet were floating in the air. Peter realized he was really flying and ended up falling solidly again. Nathan ran over and helped him up. Peter hugged his brother in excitement.

Mohinder Suresh is a professor at a university in India, where his father studies the field of genetics and he himself is an expert in the field of the supernatural. He has just received news that his father has died. While on the surface this looks like an accident, Suresh insists that his father was killed because of his own research. He goes to his father's apartment to search for the materials left behind by his father and hears a cell phone ringing in the next room. The resourceful Suresh immediately realizes something is wrong and rushes to find the materials he needs and leaves in a hurry. A man in the next room says to the cell phone "He left all the materials except his own computer."

The camera pans and we are in another room. A blonde woman, Nikki Sanders, is scratching her head at the camera on her laptop. She slowly lies down on the bed, rolls over, and removes her top. Just as she puts her hands on her bra, the computer beeps. She typed on the keyboard, "Time's up, renew if you want to continue". The other person cursed. She ignored it and left the room in triumph. But there was a part of her that was distorted in the mirror.

Nikki's way of supporting her family was to do pornographic performances over the internet, but lately she would often see strange distortions of herself in the mirror, as if she were looking in a ha-ha mirror. She ignores it because the annoyance is enough. She and her son, Mikey, had another fight. Mikey was good kid, very smart, but Nikki, being a stripper, didn't always understand her son. That's when a couple of gang bangers come looking for Nikki. Nikki saw it through the spyglass and rushed to escape through the back door, dragging her son with her.

Peter told his brother Nathan about his own dreams about flying/crashing a lot and said that sometimes he still sees Nathan in his dreams. Nathan is a politician whose ambition is to become president. Nathan gets impatient and says he doesn't have time for this crap. But Peter says that when he wakes up in the morning his feet really do float outside his bed. He seriously thinks he can actually fly. Nathan mockingly says Peter might as well try jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge, but Peter says he plans to start practicing on something short.

Tokyo, Japan. A large clock on a table clacked away as a screen showed the time. Hiro Nakamura stared at it blankly. Suddenly, the watch backed up for a second.

Peter finally made up his mind and stood on the roof of the house, calling for his brother. Nathan, busy as he was, came running in, still annoyed. Peter said to his brother, "I've finally found the one thing that beats you, I can fly!" He jumped, but flopped down like a brick. Nathan is shocked and rushes to catch him - it's Nathan, not Peter, who can fly!
