Life Story:
He was a bright man who was known as a child prodigy in his hometown (Jeonju), and his ideal was to be a dentist before he became a singer. He entered the dentistry program at Seoul University with the top grade. The profession of doctor is among the three highest ranking among Korean men, which tells us that Hoon is a man of both intelligence and ability!
In 2000, Hoon and Choi Jung Won formed UN, a group that was selected by UN's parent company, and from 2000 to 2005 they released five albums in Korea and one album in Japan.
Hoon, in his senior year of high school, had suffered from severe depression. According to himself, it was because he couldn't keep up with his physics grades, and at that time his mom was afraid that he would commit suicide and looked after him every day, and then his illness slowly got better after his physics grades got better. But Hoon himself said that his illness came back when he was in college, and I think it was the stress of the time.
About Hoon's studies, he dropped out of school when he was debating whether to pursue a career or studies, and UN is recognized as a hard-working group in the Korean entertainment industry. They usually release their albums during winter and summer vacations, so their songs and music videos are more seasonal.
