3. Synergizing Chambers Museum
Introduction

8. Ancient County Yamen
Introduction
Tucked away next to the Listening to the Rain Tower on the south side of the city, Pingyao's ancient county yamen, built in the Northern Wei Dynasty, is the best-preserved ancient yamen office that still exists in China.
The county yamen is divided into three roads on the left, center and right, with the yamen, yimen, pagoda, hall, house door, second hall and inner house on the central axis from south to north, and extending outward all the way to the south cross street. The ancient county yamen, no matter from the architectural layout or the function setting, can be regarded as a miniature of the imperial palace.
