What is the cha-cha-cha?

The cha-cha-cha, a Latin dance, is the most popular Latin social dance in the United States in the 1950s, and the most original derivative of the mambo.

The cha-cha-cha dance originated in Cuba, and was first modeled after the penguin's walking form, which is very entertaining. The basic elements of its dance steps, absorbed a lot of rumba elements, their waist and hip movements are very similar, and cha-cha due to the faster tempo of the dance, and the need to extend the action to shorten the time, so its center of gravity than the rumba is relatively a little higher.

The basic steps of cha-cha-cha dance

1, cha-cha-cha walk

This is the step before and after the walk, the rhythm of 2-3-4-1, when stepping forward, the center of gravity in the front foot, the back foot toes on the ground, instep taut; backward, the center of gravity in the back foot, the front foot toes on the ground, instep taut. When practicing basic movements, when moving the left foot, the right wrist drives the upper arm inward and downward in a circle and then straightens; when moving the right foot, the left arm draws inward and downward in a circle and then straightens.

2. Parallel Step

It is the basic step of cha-cha-cha, which is actually a lateral step, and due to the confrontation of the feet with the ground, it gets a left-right rotation of the hips. The left foot first steps to the left, then the right foot follows, the left foot again to the left, the right foot does not move. This rhythm is often referred to as "cha-cha-cha-cha".
