Curriculum outline and structure

Bachelor of Psychology is specially designed for students who want to engage in psychological research and related fields. After graduation, they can enter graduate school and become registered psychologists in the future. Students who have completed their bachelor's degree can apply for a one-year honorary bachelor's degree in psychology, either at the University of Adelaide or at other universities recognized by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. In order to obtain the partial registration qualification of the Australian Psychological Society, students must complete the fourth year of the honorary bachelor's degree.

The course of the first year of this major outlines the basic knowledge of psychology as a discipline and a profession. The psychology courses in the second and third grades cover the following aspects: biological basis of behavior, sensory perception, cognition and language, learning and memory, motivation and emotion, social psychology, developmental psychology, personality and individual differences, mental health and so on.

Because psychology is an evidence-based discipline, students will also have the opportunity to learn a series of methods to collect and analyze relevant data in these courses.
