Hypertension is a disease characterized by the increase of systemic arterial blood pressure. At rest, if the patient's blood pressure is too high for two or more consecutive times, that is, the systolic blood pressure is greater than or equal to 140mmHg and the diastolic blood pressure is greater than or equal to 90mmHg, it can be diagnosed as hypertension.
Hypertension is more common in patients over 40 years old. Common clinical symptoms include dizziness, headache, fatigue and palpitation. Blood pressure often rises after fatigue, mental stress and mood swings, and can return to normal after rest. However, if the treatment is not timely or the nursing is improper, it is easy to be complicated with cerebral thrombosis, cerebral hemorrhage, heart disease and kidney disease and other important organ functions or organic damage.
At present, the common TCM syndrome differentiation types of hypertension in clinic are hyperactivity of liver yang, obstruction of phlegm, deficiency of both qi and blood and deficiency of kidney essence.
Common Chinese medicine dietotherapy methods for patients with hypertension include fresh celery juice, lotus leaf porridge, shepherd's purse porridge and plantain seed porridge, which can be given according to the patient's condition.
It should be noted that in the process of Chinese medicine diet therapy, patients' families and friends should actively urge patients to correct bad eating habits and living habits, such as liking spicy and greasy food, smoking and drinking.
On the premise of taking medicine, dietotherapy can help lower blood pressure, but it is not advisable to rely solely on dietotherapy. Only reasonable diet, regular exercise and taking antihypertensive drugs are the scientific methods to lower blood pressure.
