Why circumcision (why many men need circumcision)

When it comes to foreskin, men are no strangers.

The foreskin is the skin around the top of the male "younger brother", which can protect the sensitive top to some extent. Under normal circumstances, when a man "lifts", his coat can be exposed naturally, but some men need hands to turn it out. This situation is often the foreskin is too long.

The adverse effects of too long foreskin may not be obvious in the early stage, but this does not mean that there will be no problems if the foreskin is too long, and long-term unresolved may lead to more serious consequences.

What are the hazards of long foreskin? When a boy is in infancy, the foreskin is often long and can completely wrap the glans penis and urethral head. With the growth of men's age, in adolescence, with the development of little brother, the foreskin will gradually retract, and finally the glans penis can be completely exposed in adulthood. However, according to statistics, about 30% of adult male foreskin can still cover the glans penis, which is called too long foreskin.

Too long foreskin can be said to be very annoying to most men, because it may cause the following problems:

Causes dermatitis: Because of the secretion of sebaceous glands and desquamation of skin tissue, it is easy to accumulate in the foreskin and is not easy to clean up. Long-term accumulation will increase the risk of infection and cause dermatitis;

Cause phimosis: dermatitis may cause adhesion, which in turn leads to phimosis, causing dysuria;

Increase the risk of penile cancer: Long-term accumulation of scale will stimulate tissues and may induce penile cancer.

It is too long. Must it be "one size fits all"? Although foreskin is not a disease, it will bring a lot of trouble to adult men, so some people may consider circumcision, but not all foreskins need to be cut!

Dr. Shi Jing, a urologist at Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, said that the purpose of circumcision is to solve the adverse effects caused by excessive length, such as long-term recurrent dermatitis and phimosis. Long-term anti-infection treatment of recurrent dermatitis can only treat the symptoms rather than the root cause, so doctors suggest that such patients remove the long foreskin in time to fundamentally solve the problem; Phycosis is more serious. The foreskin completely covers the penis head and cannot be exposed. It may also induce penile cancer, and it is fundamental to solve the problem of long foreskin.

Reminder: Don't let underage boys circumcise casually. Many parents will take their children to the hospital for circumcision consultation during the winter and summer vacations, but in fact, doctors do not recommend this practice!

First of all, the "little brother" of minors has not yet matured, and the foreskin will be slightly longer under normal physiological conditions, but it will naturally ease when it develops into adolescence; At the same time, circumcision is a small operation that only needs local anesthesia, and it may be difficult for younger children to cooperate. Therefore, the doctor suggested that if it is not the serious phimosis or repeated infection caused by the long foreskin, the child can be circumcised when he is older.
