Weihai is a prefecture-level city in Shandong Province, a regional central city of Shandong Peninsula in China approved by the State Council, an important marine industrial base and a coastal tourist city.
Weihai is located in the east of China, at the eastern end of Shandong Peninsula. It is bordered by the Yellow Sea in the north, east and south, Liaodong Peninsula in the north, Korea Peninsula across the sea in the east and Yantai in Shandong in the west.
