After that, two branches organized experts to formulate China's "Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis B", which was officially released on June 5438+February 10, 2005. In the process of formulating hepatitis B guidelines, Academician Zhuang Hui showed excellent ability to coordinate all parties. He listened to the opinions of all parties with an open mind and gave correct academic guidance.
Professor Jia Jidong, who is currently the chairman of the Hepatology Branch, believes that from the beginning of the formulation of hepatitis B guidelines, all parties disagreed in the process, and finally reached a consensus, the significance of this process has surpassed the academic itself, leading the transformation of the whole concept of hepatitis B treatment in China, that is, from simply emphasizing liver protection and enzyme reduction treatment to future antiviral treatment, and absorbing international new concepts including disease classification and diagnosis.
Under the guidance of evidence-based medicine, the Hepatology Branch led by Professor Zhuang Hui fully absorbed the relevant contents of American Hepatology Association, European Hepatology Research Association and Asia-Pacific Hepatology Association, and neither copied nor confined to foreign guidelines, but combined with the reality of China, made this guideline for the prevention and treatment of chronic hepatitis B in China scientific, forward-looking and able to withstand scrutiny.
After the publication of the guidelines, it is necessary for medical workers to correctly understand and apply the guidelines. Therefore, the two branches organized and implemented the continuing education project of "Guide to Hepatitis C in China", and carried out a series of education activities on the diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis C for nearly 10,000 clinicians of infectious diseases and liver diseases in 22 cities across the country.
In 2006 and 2007, the two branches jointly carried out the roving continuing education activities of "Guidelines for Prevention and Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis B", and gave 260 lectures in 50 cities across the country. About 8000 clinicians of infectious diseases and liver diseases have received continuing education, which has made important contributions to improving the diagnosis and treatment level of viral hepatitis among medical workers in China. On March 25th, 20 10, the annual meeting of APASL was held in Beijing, China, which attracted much attention, but the bidding process of APASL was not smooth sailing. During the 4th 14 APASL conference held in India in 2004, China hepatologists proposed to hold the annual APASL conference in China. At that time, a senior expert of APASL Society raised an objection. He asserted: "If China is going to hold the annual meeting of APASL, it will be held after 10!" This sentence aroused the morale of Professor Zhuang Hui, who has always been peaceful. Professor Zhuang knows that while the iron is hot, APASL must look at the strength of liver disease experts in China. Since then, the Society of Hepatology has advocated and organized domestic doctors to contribute to the annual meeting of APASL for three consecutive years, and the quantity and quality of the contributions have been improved year by year, which has been recognized by the APASL organizing committee.
China hepatologists have more opportunities to attend international conferences, but few opportunities to speak and preside at the annual meeting of the European and American Society. In order to enhance the international academic communication ability of hepatologists in China, under the leadership of Professor Zhuang Hui, the Hepatology Branch of Chinese Medical Association signed a cooperation agreement with Indonesian Hepatology Society at the end of 2005, and organized an academic conference on hepatology between the two countries.
With the successful convening of the two China-China Liver Disease Summits, the English communication ability of Indian liver disease experts has been tempered, and their confidence in making reports or hosting international academic conferences has also been enhanced.
In 2007, at the APASL annual meeting held in Kyoto, China liver disease experts shined brilliantly. More and more experts from China spoke and presided over the meeting. China Society of International Hepatology has jointly held a seminar on "China Day" with APASL for two consecutive years. This expert, who once strongly opposed China's holding of the annual meeting of APASL, also frequently showed kindness to experts in China. After three years' efforts, the time is ripe for China to hold the annual meeting of APASL. In 2008, the Standing Council of APASL decided that the 20th annual meeting of APASL would be held in China on March 20 10. This is the first time that the annual meeting of APASL has been held in Chinese mainland since the establishment of 1978 APASL Society.
Professor Jia Jidong was full of respect when talking about Professor Zhuang Hui. "Academician Zhuang Hui is a knowledgeable and rigorous expert. He is approachable, willing to support future generations, and has strong cohesion, which is widely respected by the academic circles of liver diseases and infectious diseases. Professor Zhuang attaches great importance to the cultivation of young people. The echelon of talents in hepatology is reasonable, and there are successors, which is mainly inseparable from Academician Zhuang Hui's bold use and strict requirements for young people. " First of all, further updating the hepatitis B guidelines is an important task of the current Hepatology Branch chaired by Professor Jia Jidong. At present, the first draft of the updated hepatitis B guidelines has been formed and the unified draft has been completed. After the 20 10 APASL annual meeting, the complete draft with references will be consulted and revised by experts. Professor Jia said that this task must be completed as soon as possible this year. The association will also plan to update hepatitis C guidelines.
Secondly, the Hepatology Branch will continue to cooperate with relevant government departments to implement the "Eleventh Five-Year" major science and technology plan, and hope to do more work in the preparation of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan". Academician Zhuang Hui played a great role in this work. In addition, the hepatology department also actively provides suggestions and references for the government to formulate policies to eliminate social discrimination against hepatitis B.
In addition, all provinces have members of the Hepatology Branch, and the Society hopes to rely on the members of the Hepatology Branch to carry out more work and promote the academic development of hepatology everywhere through the radiation and cohesion of members. In May 2008, at the Sixth National Clinical Congress of Hepatology, the Hepatology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association launched an initiative to maintain academic independence and academic justice.
The initiative requires doctors and scholars at all levels in the field of liver diseases to be independent and fair in academic exchanges and medical work, emphasizing academic rigor, decent style of study and scientific knowledge dissemination. Especially when participating in the promotion activities of new drugs of pharmaceutical companies, we must adhere to a fair stand, speak realistically and try to avoid commercial prejudice.
Professor Jia said in an interview with this reporter that many medical associations in the United States and Europe have clear and strict regulations on medical activities. For example, at the annual meeting of American Hepatology, each speaker should first explain whether there is a relationship between himself and the pharmaceutical company and what kind of relationship exists. It is undeniable that pharmaceutical companies have funded medical research to a great extent, but this fact should be made clear and transparent. The "Initiative" of the Hepatology Society made use of these guidelines on the relationship between medicine and pharmaceutical enterprises.
Professor Jia hopes that the introduction of this measure will help to safeguard the academic justice of a profession or even an industry and the academic independence of every doctor.
In addition, under the leadership of previous presidents, the Hepatology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association has trained a large number of young experts in the field of hepatology, and made China hepatologists go global through various academic exchange activities. In order to train young and middle-aged liver disease workers, 1997, the Hepatology Branch and the editorial department of Chinese Journal of Hepatology set up the "Young and Middle-aged Science and Technology Award", which has been awarded for seven times, greatly promoting the clinical and scientific research level of young and middle-aged liver disease workers in China.
