Xu Jiatuo, MD, distinguished professor of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, doctoral supervisor, Dean of Basic Medical College of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Xu Jiatuo worked as a doctor, postdoctoral fellow and visiting scholar in Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Tsinghua University and other universities, and as a visiting scholar in the Computer Department of the University of Missouri.

Graduated from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (65438-0996), engaged in interdisciplinary research on modernization of TCM diagnostic technology for a long time. Head of sub-health evaluation technology research of the 863 Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, head of the national "Twelfth Five-Year" science and technology support program "Research on the identification technology of Chinese medicine characteristic health state", and head of the national "Thirteenth Five-Year" key R&D program "Research and development of intelligent tongue diagnosis system of Chinese medicine".

Dr. Xu Jiatuo's main research directions and achievements include the research and application of TCM diagnosis and treatment technology informatization, as well as the interdisciplinary research and application of TCM tongue and pulse diagnosis signal collection and analysis and TCM characteristic health evaluation technology. He used to be the head of the 863 Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the head of the National Twelfth Five-Year Science and Technology Support Program, and the Medical Education Network.

Dr. Xu Jiatuo has successively undertaken 6 national scientific research projects and more than 20 provincial and municipal scientific research projects, and the research on information technology of tongue diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine won the "Shanghai Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress" and "Shanghai Science and Technology Award for Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine". He published more than 80 papers, edited 5 monographs and studied 6 patents.
