How to understand the relationship between health and disease

On disease

Buddhism takes birth, old age, illness and death as four pains. Among them, what ordinary people fear most is not death, but disease-in which it is easier to feel that life is worse than death; Those who are willing to commit suicide are proof.

The normal state of mind and body is for health; The remarkable abnormal state of mind and body is caused by disease. Between health and disease, there is also an insignificant abnormal state of mind and body, which is called recent disease.

Obviously, without normality, there is no abnormality; Without health, there would be no disease. In fact, the reverse is also true: there is no abnormality, there is no normality; Without disease, there is no health. -Yin and Yang are interdependent. Born different, died different.

Therefore, there is no need to hate and resent all kinds of adversity in life. Suffering from evil deeds in heaven is fate, and complaining about heaven is not only useless, but even more bitter; Suffering from immorality, that is karma, blaming others, and no wonder others.

Old and inconvenient people long for eternal youth; Sick people fantasize that health will last forever: people are often not immune to aging and diseases, but often want them to disappear completely. If there really is a God, he is willing to be merciful and erase the "old" and "sick" between life and death-then people are like bombs that explode at a certain time but don't know when; At that time, the fear of death would be more terrible than today's aversion to aging and disease.

Diseases can continue to be classified: being in the body, not in the heart, is for physical diseases; In the heart but not in the body, it is for heart disease; Both body and mind are involved, which is a double disease. Diseases are inseparable from human beings: early science and technology were underdeveloped, and diseases were the main ones; In the medium term, science and technology are relatively developed, mainly with double diseases; Later, science and technology were developed, mainly heart disease.

It should be noted that technology is a double-edged sword, which can cure both diseases (physical diseases) and diseases (heart diseases). The treatment of physical diseases is not easy; The treatment of heart disease is more difficult. Therefore, when we rejoice in the improvement of the curative effect of science and technology on physical diseases, we should be more alert to its hidden harm-merit is in the present, but in the future; To live in the present is to work in the future.

All living things have a strong ability to maintain their own stability, especially human beings. Therefore, the disease must have a clear cause, and the pathogenicity of the latter must be stronger than the human body's resistance to appear outside. Therefore, in order to prevent and control diseases, it is necessary to weaken the pathogenicity of the cause or enhance the human body's resistance-obviously, the latter is easier and more critical.

To fight against physical diseases, you must be strong; To fight against heart disease, we must be mentally strong; To fight against double diseases, we must do both. Good living habits are the guarantee of good health; Noble moral cultivation is the strong backing of spirit: living habits are bad, moral cultivation is not high, but thinking about physical and mental health, isn't it daydreaming?

The ancients said, "If you don't cut green, you will find an axe." If you don't stop, you will become a river. "For disasters, the earlier the intervention, the better the effect and the smaller the loss. Therefore, "saints are treated before they get sick, and diseases have been treated without disorder", "doctors are treated before they get sick, Chinese doctors have been treated, and lower doctors have been treated".

With the passage of time, heart disease is becoming more and more common, and it is becoming more and more difficult to improve. If you are sick, others will contribute; If it is, it will be very difficult to start. To solve the problem, it is necessary to untie the bell and tie the bell: if a heart patient neglects to save himself or even refuses to seek medical treatment, it is the reincarnation of Confucius and the rebirth of Hua Tuo, and there is nothing he can do.

There is a saying in Augmented Xianwen: "You are poor, and there is no master to give you money. If you are sick, there will be a prescription." I have no good prescription for heart disease except self-help, only a few suggestions: return to simplicity.

The closer the body is to nature, the simpler the heart is, and the fewer and lighter the diseases are-heart disease is the most so. With the development of science and technology, the gap between man and nature is getting bigger and bigger-the more obvious the benefits, the more hidden the disadvantages; The wider the work, the heavier it is.

For human beings, the benefits are obvious and harmful, and the benefits are wide and light. I only think of one thing: love nature. Being kind to nature means being kind to yourself.
